Saturday -- nice day, one of the nicest we've had in a while. High of about 16C, dropped to about 13C while we were out there, but no wind for a change ... and sunshine too.
Unfortunately I'm up to my eyeballs in a Web Development project for uni so I just didn't have the time to ride much. We did, however, take a little break just now and got in a quick 15.7 km ride around our neighbourhood from home. Down to one of the local beaches, around the beach community there, and then up and around the suburb. I needed to get the blood flowing again.

I rode yesterday. It was just to work. About 9 miles there, but I was able to catch a bus on the ride home and get out of the rain for a bit, so maybe 5 miles on the way home. Solo, and no pics.

This month has been the wettest May in years. I can't complain, thanks to mother nature I've picked lots of volunteer OT opportunities and will continue to do so, which gets me even further in purchasing a house someday. To answer the OP, I did get out for a ride yesterday, went for 50 miles but decided to bail at mile 30 after a series of flats. Industrial staples, steel belts from radial tires, and a pinched tube which I admit was totally my fault - I have never had so much bad luck on a single ride.

I haven't ridden for a week and I need to prep for the 50 km ride for heart in 2 weeks. The distance is no problem, but I don't want to be too slow for my peeps. I'm in poorer shape than usual due to a delayed spring and a sore knee that seems healed now. I would have signed up for 75 km but my son is bringing his fiancee and we worried it would be too much for her as an occasional pleasure cyclist, but now I wonder if I will be the slow one.
Anyway I was working out of town this past week and I did at least get in a couple of days of 2-4 miles of walking.
It's a long weekend so I'll try to catch up on at least the missed 110 km of commuting miles.

Prelude: on both Tuesday and Thursday this week I rode my trainer in the workout area Rowan has created for me. Tis the season to ride inside!
Saturday: 77.7 km outside!
There's a major storm coming. They've been advertising it for days now ... supposed to roll in this evening. So we set off relatively early (11 am) in order to get this ride in before the storm arrived, and yet late enough so that the frost would have melted off the roads.
It was about 10C where we live when we set off, and climbed up the Southern Outlet. That's about a 12 km climb and by the time we got to the top, we were both overheating because we had dressed for cold. I figured I'd be shedding clothes as soon as we got to the bottom of the descent.
But when we got to the bottom of the descent, it was indeed cold ... it had dropped to 8C and then down to 7C while we were riding. That was combined with a little breeze and heavy mist all the way out making it feel quite chilly. I was wishing for winter cycling boots! My toe covers weren't quite up to the job.
We turned around and fortunately the mist/drizzle stopped, and what little wind there was dropped off to practically nothing.
We had thought about stopping for lunch, but opted to just keep riding back home instead. A hot shower and coffee were calling! So we kept cycling back to Hobart and then up and over Bonnet Hill.
Our elevation profile shows one big climb at the beginning, then almost flat, and then another big climb at the end. Variety!
Happily, we did the ride within randonneuring time. Mission accomplished!
There were a number of cyclists out there today ... all bundled up and looking rather cold. So we weren't the only ones.

164.9 km training ride ... from home and back to home again. No cars involved.
Story in this thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...y-11-17-a.html
Oh, and last weekend, we did a 100 km training and exploratory ride from the place we were staying for the weekend.

Well, it is the middle of winter. I was originally thinking we'd do something a little over 200 km, but we've had such bad weather lately, that idea was just not appealing. Then I was thinking of 180 km, but the far end of that route got a lot of snow during the week and then was flooded. So we decided to shorten it up to a century and just go with that.

Today, to pick up prescriptions. I'm car-free by habit, economics, and lifestyle, but I don't ride long distances unless I feel good (I'm disabled) and conditions are suitable. "Training" is not part of my personal makeup.

I didn't get out early enough to beat-the-heat. But a did get in a 10+ mile (round trip) ride to the post office.

Not a good idea, but . . .
I rode to the bike co-op yesterday. We have a "heat advisory" for heat indexes around 100 F (38 or so C), and my asthma makes that worse. Oh, well, I got a couple of things done. The round trip is about 8.5 miles (13.67 km). Nothing today or tomorrow. I learned my lesson yesterday.

I find I can tolerate heat pretty well as long as I'm used to it and don't try to do more than what I'm accustomed to. It's like getting used to the cold. Get out in it every day and it won't bother you very much at all.

My jersey was soaked when I got home.
As you say, you get accustomed to the temperature, and humidity (dry or damp), and it becomes easier than you would think. You probably get the same reaction when telling non cyclists, you get used to it.
I remember Jay Leno saying "The murder statistics here have gone up. But, it's OK, it's a dry murder."
