That bottle looks very pleasant, although I do wonder a bit about the contents. I may propose a more predictable adult beverage before dinner tonight.

I rode with 2 friends I haven't seen in a long time, along with 3 of their friends. We started on the coast highway ( I hate the coast highway) and went up into the hills for 45 miles and 4200 feet of climbing. Not too hot and a fun 11 mile descent near the end, then a few miles on Pacific Coast Highway with tens of thousands of cars. A fun day and I needed it.

Very nice! Finding undamaged chrome under the aged lacquer must have felt like Christmas!
As you can probably tell from my postings, I like old frames with more modern components. No reason to be stuck with single pivot brakes, downtube shifters, or narrow gearing just because that's how it was. I kept the Ritchey with its original 7410 Dura Ace till this fall, when I realized that I didn't ride it because the 12-25 gearing was not as comfortable to ride as my bikes with wider gearing. So I upgraded the brifters, cassette, and rear derailleur to 7800 but kept that beautiful 7410 crank. So, I took it from being 25 years behind the times to just 15 years!

I did forget that the brakes are also original Dia-Compe "G" single pivots, and they're just as awful as you would expect

Oh man I'd love a bike with 7400 DA, but I also live in a much flatter place than you. My rando bike has a 7700 Rd and 7800 downtube shifters that work beautifully together. That's also with a 46/30 crank and 12-28 cassette. Shifts so well.

Bent frame usually means it's not gonna be three figures. And it might just be scrap. Thankfully it wasn't the Saturn.

I am afraid that will be the case, but will wait for official estimate before we go out and buy a new car. Most likely will get a Fit. You like yours, right?

Talking box says we’re suppose to get hit by that storm monday and tuesday, followed by rain until the end of the week. Naturally, I am off during this times. SMH.
Guy I rode with today showed my a bunch of abandoned roads that made it easy to get to the colonial parkway. Had a pretty descent ride. He helped me keep the pace slower, at mile 50 I was really considering breaking 100. By mile 60 I wasn’t feeling it any more. Funny how that works.
Only got passed by one a hole. He thought he was pretty smart to lay on his horn while passing us for no apparent reason.
