Rotor 3DF crankset compatibility question

Rotor 3DF crankset compatibility question
Hey guys -
So one of my good friends offered to sell me his Rotor 3DF Crankset for a friggin steal since I was eyeing replacing my crappy triple on my VeloBuild VB-R-022. He told me he could also sell me his Cannondale Hollowgram Crankset for the same price (a great deal) but I prefer the Rotors because they are 52/36 while the Hollowgrams are 53/39. I do quite a bit of climbing and I prefer the lower gearing.
My question is - what would I need to run the Rotors on my bike? It currently has a SRAM GXP BB in BSA. I believe the Rotors are 30mm spindle instead of the 24mm Shimano standard. Is just simply a matter of getting a new BB? Would you guys recommend going this route? Or should I go with the Hollowgrams and just getting a 12-30 cassette or something?

Looks like you’ll need BSA 30.

Rotor does make a BSA 30 BB, but any BSA 30 (68mm) BB should work. And yeah that should be the extent of the mods necessary.
The hollowgram, however, may not be a good fit. If it was designed for BB/PF30 or BB/PF30A, the spindle will be too short for BSA.

I run a Rotor 3D+ crank on my Spooky which is a standard BSA BB, I went with a Rotor BSA30 BB and its been great, cost me 50 bucks and havent had any issues.

Personal bias (maybe,) but Rotor > Hollowgram. I do own three Rotor cranksets.
For the BBs, Rotor BSA30 > Wheels Mfg. BSA 30. The Rotor comes with an installation tool, while the Wheels requires a very specific one.

Did your Rotor BB come with a BB wrench? The photo on Backcountry shows it with the wrench but it does not mention it.
Also, did you need any sort of spacers to make the crank fit?

Did you order from Rotor directly or Backcountry? I want to make sure I get the tool too.

I got it from my local shop, they ordered from Rotor, the one from Rotor comes with the tool needed. Its a attachment for a wrench. I am not running any spacers. All I did was install and then use the tension nut on the non-drive side to tighten any play which was about half a turn and its been great.

There's the 3d24 and about 19 versions of the 3d 30mm. The 3D24 (shimano fit) has the spindle connected to the DS, the 30mm has it on the NDS.

If the 3d24 172.5, check for chainring wobble. If you spin it mounted on the like and the chainring wobbles a few MM in/out, this is a defect. Probably OK for 1x, but not 2x.
