Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That seems like a lot of walking for a first date. Unless the date was itself a walk.

I think in total it was around 5 miles of walking.

It started out just as a walk along the river. Then we got dinner. Then we went to see a concert at a dive bar. Then we adopted a cat.

You’ll never see it if it’s being offset by dehydration and glycogen depletion. Also, there are big genetic differences in the response of muscles to overuse. There are constant stories of people getting on spin bikes and developing compartment syndromes with nerve damage and rhabdomyolysis. Happened to a student of mine, who narrowly avoided emergency surgery. Those folks are just at one end of a spectrum.

Indeed. You can't tell if you're doing damage, or eating beets.... If I drink beet supplement, then do an e-ride, which may consist of eating some black cherry Bloks, some Fruit Punch Roctane and Tailwind, I swear I'm flushing a crime scene from Forensic Files when I get home.

Semper Supra. Hmmm, seems like they should be sponsoring a Toyota.

I've peed hyper-yellow/green from supplements, but never anything towards that end of the spectrum.

Side note: I've always thought that some finding some veggies that could safely, reliably and vividly change pee color would be one way to provide an incentive for kids to branch out with their eating habits. Too bad Mother Nature isn't on the same page.

Visibly pink pee, if it's not due to something you ate, generally means a structural issue somewhere in the plumbing, and does not necessarily imply kidney damage. Most kidney injuries are silent.

Yeah, except for coca cola colored urine from a kidney stone. That was entertaining. Thank god for the internet.

I do not believe I have ever eaten a beet, or a beet-derived substance.
