Ouch, idunno if the protype bottom bracket has this issue but anyone using the Tange and maybe even the Phil might wanna check their cranks.

Been using the Protype and Tange-Seiki w/o any apparent problems. But thanks for the psa.

Been using a philwood BB with a set on the paddywagon. 5 years of commuting and counting without problems here.

Yeah, every Tange 109mm ISO BB I've installed with 75s (on my own bikes and those belonging to customers) has been 100% fine too. My current Phil Wood/75 setup is perfect too.

This is the same kind of **** as Phil Wood saying you need to use a a Phil cog on their hubs (which is 100% false).

Also, it's PROtype, not Prototype.

Make sure to use Phil grease when installing a Phil cog on a Phil hub, except apparently don't because it is for those applications?! I was talking with a friend who I used to work with and he was saying Phil says don't use it for your normal grease for threads and such, just for bearings and the like.

I also heard Phil recommends using JIS (or maybe it was low-pro JIS) instead of ISO for 75s but I cannot remember where and when I first heard that.

If only Sugino would just listen to the people and make a sealed bearing BB for 75s and rake in more cashola. They have got to know that probably half of the people who own one are using it on their street rig and riding through rain and don't want to repack a BB all the dang time. It's not like they don't make a sealed BB for their messenger cranks. Maybe they just expect everyone to go with that DD version with the external BB like a sucka?

For a while when I saw Protype pop up and my brain would just go "Prototype, why don't they just make a final version". Basically during and after work my brain is fried so seeing shiz like that doesn't help.
