Yeah, I run a single in-line cross brake for the rear as I often ride with my daughter as she rollerskates and it's more comfortable to drag the brake when riding in these circumstances. As far as the rear freewheel is concerned, I really had my heart set on the AARN chainring, but could only find it in 51t. Had to go with a 20t rear to get the ratio I wanted.

^ other than the rear tire, I don't see much wrong with this bike. Wait, fixed with no foot retention or is it SS with just a front brake?

Debating on posting mine, not sure I want to because I know there will be h8.

My jawn:

I don't like that this bike isn't my size and that it's not in my possession. Also the chain for the saddle looks awkward but I think it's ok to prioritize practicality over beauty.

*fist bump* Yeah the saddle chain isn't the prettiest thing, but I've had saddles jacked while I was locked up before (twice) so I always want to keep it secured.

Does that thing rattle around when you ride? you can wrap the chain in an old tube and ziptie it to the seat post. I put wax in the bolt socket to prevent seat theft. it's not a foolproof deterrent but it's just another hurdle so potential thieves usually end up looking for an easier target.

Guessing the frame was built for 26" wheels? If so, I would've stuck with 26's and used some fatter tires. And black grips.

Props on the dumpster diving.

Also, I've seen messengers using that exact speaker on their bags. They lament the loss of their 2-way radios.

It's not even that it's a conversion. It's that you've used a frame with vertical dropouts, making the chain slacker than the queen's minge.

I have a regular Rex and then the Pro. Rex battery lasts longer and sounds good. Pro has internal memory and has more bass but the battery sucks. Would sell Pro for cheap if someone wants.

I could buy a black saddle but then that'd mean care and effort was put into more than one part. We're talking mismatched steel/alloy cranks, steel bars, steel post, bottom bracket axle too narrow for the 71mm shell, self unscrewing headset, shot rear hub and rear spokes made of rust.

And you know what? It rides like a magic carpet. Care and attention might break the spell.

Yeah! This is my second one, I love it so much. As for two way radios, a lot of companies out here still use them.
