Masi Gran Criterium 54cm ~1980
I have a 54cm Masi Gran Criterium (metallic blue in color) that I purchased new around the 1980 timeframe (not sure of the exact year of the frame--my guess 1979-1980). I'd post some pics; unfortunately, it's stored behind a massive amount of other stuff in our garage It has the "M" cutout underneath the bottom bracket. Brazed on water bottle and shift lever mounts. I believe it has a mix of Shimano Dura-Ace (crankset, headset, and brakes) and Campagnolo Nuovo Record (derailleurs and hubs) components (all circa ~1980). I know, a strange mix--it is what it is. The rear axle Campagnolo drop-outs are not chromed. I would rate the frame (and bike) in excellent condition---probably has a few thousand miles on it. Very little (if any) scratches, dents, fading, and corrosion. Zero mods to the frame. Kept inside since new. Possible value? Thanks!

At some point you will need to move the massive amount of other stuff to get to the bike if you intend to sell it. Someone will know a ballpark value from your description but condition is everything so pics are required for a more accurate number. And the serial number too.

Or just take the best offer you get without bringing the bike up to snuff, and let someone else do the work and get a great deal... I volunteer, of course.
Campy components would be nice, but they abound. Masi's in great shape (or any shape) don't. Excavate and bing it back into the light.
Cheers, Eric

OK, probably USA built... but 1978 to early 1980 is a "dynamic" time at Masi in California, and not all the movements terrific.
You need to gather up some images, the color, light blue being more popular than the medium blue for example... the graphics pckage, and other details along with the serial numnber will effect a collector's interest.
These bikes when from the factory were full Campagnolo, some were sold as frame sets. Buyer's choice on parts. The market today will prefer Campagnolo.

...as already stated, nobody is going to venture much in the way of an estimate without some good photos.
Prices are kinda down some right now, and if youi wait until winter sets in, they will probably drop further.
But both the Italian made and the California made Masi's are nice bikes, and usually draw interest from people who look for this stuff.
54 is a little small, but not unbearably so. There are small people who ride old race bikes, you just need to connect with them.
They were marked from center to top back then, so my 64 fits more like a 62 in terms of standover.
