Just joined the forum to find out about a bike I had given to me when a friend moved out of country. He said he paid $1500 a long time ago.I was debating fixing it up or selling it. I don't know the exact age but it has the following...

Miele Cicli looks like a serial number CS599841
there is a sticker that has Lot no GB10109 186 North American
Seat has Carson Italia Laprade
SR Road Champion SAKAE Custom Japan on handlebars
Shiano gear changers
SP153 Japan on pedals

Any information on this bike would be appreciated, as well as a value.
I'll try to grab a picture of it.

No way that was $1500.00 new. We need sharper images from the drive side and closeups of the components before we can even tell what level they are.

What diameter is the seatpost?

What size are the wheels - 700C or 27"? Clincher or tubular tires?

Brake levers and cailpers = what make?

Cheers

This is a 1985, Japanese manufactured model. The non-drive pic makes it hard to identify the major components, though the brakes appear to be Shimano Z-series, specifically the BR-Z570 model. This would make a Nova or Classica the best candidates, pending identification of the derailleurs and tubeset. Assuming it is a Classica, which was the higher priced of the two models, original price would have been about $350 US or $450 CDN. In addition to the previously requested pictures, knowing your location would aid in providing an accurate assessment, as market conditions vary significantly.

Thanks for all the information! I live near Niagara Falls and I think the bike would have been purchased in Toronto. I just put some new tires and tubes on it. It is a very big bike and probably a bit too big for me to ride. Any idea what it would be worth if I were to sell it? I see a few n Toronto area on kjiji I the $200 -$400 range but I don't know how they compare. I took some more pics.

I measured the wheels and they are 27" including the tire. The frame from center of the front sprocket to top of the frame is 24 inches.

The most common bicycle sales venue for GTA is Kijiji.

I've also been scouring the web for info on my Miele that I got off CL for super cheap. I know its Columbus from the dropout engravings, but the frame isnt lugged except for the fork crown and the geo is slightly pursuit. Absolutely my favorite road bike I've ever owned, just wished I had some more historical info on the model/welder/year/catalogue groupset and components. Showstopper bike, tubing is toothpick thin and stiff as a board!

1988 Black Miele I wish I knew?

Trying to figure out the model and tubing on a resprayed frame. It has Shimano 105 dated to 1988. The fork is stamped LUNG MADE IN TAIWAN. Has the Meile Ambrosio 700c rims. The part of the frame that holds the rear brake is angled like a triangle upward, not straight. The rear brake cable is routed internally. The front derailleur is braze on. SR stem but Specialized drop bars may not be original. The original color is black. I don't see a SN. I THINK it is a road issue but I don't know. I THINK it may be either Tange 1 or Tange 5 tubes but I don't know. Was Columbus SL frames available with Shimano 105? So, black, 105, 1988, what is it? (Tried uploading pictures. Won't work. Will try again later)

I have a (probably) late 80's early 90's Miele Cicli, with a full SunTour Sprint 9000 group, cinelli stem and handlebars. Its in amazing condition, rides beautifully, with columbus cromor tubing. There is no serial number however, I've looked everywhere.

Any info on these?
I think its missing the head tube decal, and possibly the matching non-drive side top tube decal, but im not 100% sure.
