Giant Yukon 1 + Manitou Mastodon Fork?
Hello,
I have a Giant Yukon 1 and I am debating putting a Manitou Mastodon fork on it. I called up Giant and they said this bike is meant for a rigid fork and it might invalidate the warranty.
Has anyone done this? Does anyone have experience putting aftermarket parts on these types of bikes? I don't want to wreck my bike.
Thank You

The Yukon looks like the rigid fork is suspension corrected. Looks like for a 80 or 100mm travel fork. This is only from looking, not actually reading geometry charts.
Are you sure the person at Giant didn't mean a longer travel fork (i.e. 120mm instead of 100mm) that voids the warranty? Longer fork = slacker head angle = more load on the head tube welds.
You should find out the AC ratio of the rigid fork and get a suspension fork of equivalent length (with ~25% sag) and should be good. A few mm won't kill anything. If the frame brakes, just put the rigid fork back before you bring it to the shop for warranty.
