fantasy classics/major one-day races + general one-day races discussion

and velogames.com just posted a game within the game-fantasy classics squad-where you pick 12 riders for 9 races (la flèche wallonne > paris-roubais)and have the ability to make a maximum 20 transfers total during the entire 9 race schedule. if you didn’t feel like running a marathon with the superclassico game and prefer running shorter distances, this might work for you. ends up essentially being a nine-stage monthlong tour.
not as committed as the superclassico game but it contains the meat of the reschedded one-days and classics for 2020. have at it. obviously, some definite overlap with the superclassico game but what the hey. if you registered for the superclassico or gbbg tour de france game, you should be included in the bike forums league. if not, here’s the info:
https://www.velogames.com/
league name: bike forums
league code: 907776411

It looks like only the most stellar stable of comrades and competitors rallied for the classics squad game. Truly la creme de la creme. Once more we play our dangerous game. Mano a mano.

superclassico/classics squad participants are able to make their changes for l-b-l now.
i'll take hirchi to go back-to-back wins and snatch l-b-l.

Jeez. His stock price in Superclassico land is like the Berkshire Hathaway A of the VeloExchange.

Anyone want to pick anyone besides Juju or Hirshi for L-B-L? Like, with a straight face?
I'm heavily weighting Hirshi in my teams but I wouldn't put it past Ahlaphilippe to shed a few more tears of joy. I stuck a fork in Tadej; the lad has had a great few weeks but he's done.
My prediction is that it finishes in a small group and they are 1-2, or 2-1. If it is not one of those two, my outlandish prediction is that Teuns gets a small gap in a late move and stays away.
I'm sort of shocked at how many points are on offer in Veloville for breakaways in the classics leagues. If the break goes before half way and hangs on until the last 10k, it scores the same as a stage placing of 11th. Too bad deGendt is in the Giro. Who is dumb, brave, or lucky enough to steer their cheap picks in that direction?

I said Teuns but meant Benoot. Sunweb double tap.
Oh, GVA! I though it might be his day. Sad for him it wasn't.

That was some bad juju.
The PSC game seems to agree with the (s)pokes. Or is it the huskies? Not sure which, but top 10 on the day and 69 in the GC, on top of smacking me around like a red-headed step-child, in the game of my choosing, no less, has got to feel good. Well done.
It's a little frustrating in there trying to find the leagues standings and not being able to creep on others' teams.

Anyone watch reality in Sunday's L-B-L ?
We've got a real twitchy world chump. He was a danger to himself and others on that final run to the finish then celebrates too soon and is pipped on the line by Roglic. I suppose it was fortuitous for the commissars not to have to demote him from 1st to 5th. He's fine winning solo as he did in the Worlds but a menace in a group. Too excitable?

and a skittles greatest hits sampling at the conclusion of happy hour. nice power five at the finish tho, regardless of the juju nonsense. no weak sisters...

we've got de brabantse pijl on wed, oct 7th. finish lamenting your wins and celebrating your losses and switch out them riders...or not.
totally unable/inadequate (shocker!) in locating a 2020 map/profile but it would seem to be lumpy gravy judging from previous winners...
wish i were technologically capable of sandbagging y'all but reconciled with the sad truth long ago.

if someone comes across a current map/profile, please feel free to post here.
*edit...this wasn't available a few minutes ago...* https://www.procyclingstats.com/race...ijl/2020/today
