King size bed in a 6x12 uhaul?
So my wife and I are packing up to move from Houston to Baltimore, and we have a king size bed. Due to circumstances outside my control* we're going with the big trailer, 6x12. We only have to fit 2 couches and the mattress in it, and uhaul tells me it won't go in flat. Fine. Has anyone here just sagged the mattress and stuffed it in? (That doesnt sound too dirty does it?) I'll give a report Sunday evening in case anyone else has to do it.
*(I have a standard f150, my wife has a car, taking both of them, she doesn't drive standard, wont drive a uhaul van towing her car...)

Do you have a box spring, too? Those don't bend.

Put it in diagonally? Depends heavily on the size of the couches though.
Edit: Err what is the height of the trailer?
Edit2: 5.5ft hmm... probably wont get two couches in with the mattress at that angle.

Its been a while since I moved, but in case anyone else ever asks this question, yes, I did fit the two couches and the king mattress in the 6x12 uhaul. The mattress had to bend a bit, but that was fine by me, it was only a $300 mattress. If you're the type of person to have a $1000 mattress, you likely have someone else doing your moving for you, or you wont mind renting a bigger truck.
The really exciting part was on the moving in end. The way the stairs are in the new place meant that we had to use ratcheting tiedowns to fold the mattress in half to get it up. Again, I wouldn't recommend this for a high end double pillow top hand made blah blah, but it worked fine for us.

Yes, thought I would share as I could not find the answer, so tried and it worked.
Got a standard king size bed put into a u-haul 6'x12' trailer diagonally, there was sag, but thought I would share so you could see.

An inflatable mattress would have done the trick here.
