Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What do we think of this Gunnar Sport?

https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/bik/d/olympia-gunnar-sport-with-carbon-campy/6825345301.html

I currently have an old (heavy) centurion that I use for touring/commuting/rain and a Trek 5200 that I use for day rides. This looks like it could be an N-1 bike for me and cover all my bases (I tour pretty lightweight).

I've been emailing the owner and it sounds like the groupo was put on in 2012 NOS and he has put 3-4k miles on it himself (second owner too). I've never really used a campy groupo, but Chorus looks great and while I'm a little weary of 10sp, I think it should be ok.

Owner doesn't know the weight but im looking for something ~20lbs which I think is likely on this build. Also gonna offer $900. What do you think Bike Forums gurus? Good idea or keep looking for my N=1?

Gunners are well-made, top-quality bikes. These are distinctly better than the vast majority of steel bikes produced during the last 20 years. You will also like Campagnolo Chorus ten speed. These are a joy to use compared to Shimano ten speed. The quality of Chorus is every bit as good as Record or Dura Ace. If you have Chorus hubs, you will be able to upgrade to 11-speed cassettes without needing to replace the rear hub. I expect that you will be happy with the bike.

My carbon Campagnolo Chorus on a Steel Cyclocross bike;

So a 16 year old steel frame(quality steel) and a 7 year old groupset with 4000mi on it.

Seems high, but if it fits you great and you use it a bunch, whats $2-300, right?

new Gunnar frames are $1100, before fork. food for thought.

Campy lasts forever, and holds its value pretty well.

I'd hit it.

At least in the Houston market, 900 would be a good deal on this ride to say the least. Snap it up.
