I think the risks, such as they are, remain purely theoretical. Tylenol is a more benign drug than ibuprofen, in general, unless you have liver disease. Beets are always good for them what likes them.

If you are really sore from injury/overuse you can actually combine and take both.
But pre-ride I advise Tylenol over ibuprofen, for sure.

I unleashed an exploitive riddles trade on the driver that hit me. You could hold a gun to my head today, and I could tell you what I said. It was the definition of blind rage.

Grr. I would be interested in hearing the actual words, but I imagine the censor would have a field day with it. Stupid drivers are stupid.

Speaking of stupid, it's "First World Problems" but I have a patient who has some (appropriate) mood/anxiety issues that are really well controlled on Paxil. But the week before her period her symptoms are even worse. Best solution is to take 2 pills the 10 days before her period. It works great!
So I order the medicine to the pharmacy asking them to give her 40 pills/month since she takes extras. Pharmacy won't fill it because insurance won't cover more than 30 pills/month.
So stupid.

I went for a walk around the block before work today. One neighbor has had a large wasp/hornet nest in their tree, it's been there all summer and is still buzzing with activity.
I don't even know if they are aware of it, but it's big and obvious. I don't want to be around if/when someone throws a rock at it. I would estimate its size as 2 feet long and 1 foot across.

Tylenol is completely safe if you don’t exceed the dosage on the bottle. I would be more cautious with ibuprofen, it’s generally safe but can be hard on your kidneys and with fluid shifts/dehydration during rides that might be an issue. It can also irritate your stomach/GI tract, especially when taken on an empty stomach.
If you are really sore from injury/overuse you can actually combine and take both.
But pre-ride I advise Tylenol over ibuprofen, for sure.

Thank you. I take ibuprofen rarely, but when dehydration may be a thing, I steer clear. Beets are gross, but I think they help.
Thank you. This time of year is weights in the am, and bike in the afternoon, and sometimes I wonder if a pre-ride dose would be good. So far I've suffered through OK, but everything I'm doing this time of year is low cadence, higher power, and constant muscle pain and fatigue is in the background.

I was eating Aleve and Tylenol by the handfuls, after the accident. Tapered off to none, trying to save my organs for later in life.

In the NSAI/acetaminophen context, I have some trouble taking the dangers of removing discomfort very seriously, but maybe someone will 'splain me.
Oh, and the KICKR Snap is on the truck and arriving on Sat.

There was a study released last year that warned of the harmful effects of taking ibu before exercise, as it is a common practice among many athletes. I definitely stopped after reading the report and now wait until after my activities.

Yeah, possibly. They really keep to themselves so I don't know if they would freak out of some random middle aged guy knocks on their door. We used to see them once/year at trick-or-treat when my kids were younger but I don't think I have interacted with them for years now.

Ugh. Today was just not the day. First, just before the group ride, I discovered that I'd taken a pretty serious puncture on my 85-mile ride over the weekend and the it just wasn't sealing up. I didn't want to skip the ride, so I took out the Haanjo instead, 38mm tires, rack and all. It was not fun trying to hold on to the group, let alone take my pulls. But, whatever. Then, I had this creeping feeling that drivers were out to get us. That feeling died down, but as soon as it was forgotten, it was just a parade of ******bags.
There were at least four instances of *******ry, but the worst of them honked and cut in on my friend, driving him on to the shoulder. We caught him at a light, I took a pic of his plates and whatnot, but then the driver started in, telling us how WE had to share the road. That set me off and I was at his window yellin' on him. At one point, ****er thought he was going to get out on us, so when he opened his door, I slammed it on him and told him to sit the **** back down. He started yelling that I was assaulting him but the driver in the next lane totally had our backs - he looked at the ****** was said, "Really? Really." Anyway, yeah, I was heated. PRed the next hill.
Bad moon or whatever, it's one of those nights that I'm just glad to be home and off the streets. Ugh.

That might actually work.
When I was an intern, I had a resident, who went on to academic glory, fixing broken hearts with stem cells, who used to do flamethrower noises and pantomimes outside particular patient rooms.

Long weekend tour starts tomorrow. 59 miles to S. Jersey after a short train ride to bypass Camden, etc. Day ride from the campground on Saturday. Sunday it's on to and up the coast to Atlantic City to catch trains back to town.
Going to be a relatively light load as no cool weather gear will be needed. Maybe just some arm warmers tomorrow morning as I will be leaving around sunrise.

I rode my bike without earbuds for the first time in years yesterday. My headphone jack broke. Maybe it was a sign.
That DT hub with the ratchet upgrade is really loud. Really loud. CK bees loud.

We rode out to Wolf's Creek County Park yesterday. The road through the park is gorgeous, even been?
