Size help with mercier kilo TT

I heard the kilo TT runs pretty big compare to other bike brands. im not sure thats why i need you guys opinion! Atm im considering a 50cm or 53cm, Im not sure :/

Get the smaller one. It's not that they run big. It's that they are measured differently. They are measured center to center instead of center to top. A 50cm (c to c) Kilo is actually 53cm (c to top). A 53cm is actually 56cm. Take my word for it. I normally ride a 53-54 cm bike measured center to top. I ordered at 53 cm Kilo and it's a little big.

Base your decision on top tube length. If you're comfortable on your current bike, measure the top tube and get a Kilo that comes closest.

Yeah, this. As mentioned (I think by Scrod) in another similar thread, do you want to ride the bike, or just see how close the top tube is to your crotch? Also, all else equal, a smaller frame will have more pronounced handle bar drop at the proper saddle height.

I was on the same boat as you 2 weeks ago. I'm 5'9" with a 30" inseam. I ended up getting a 50cm kilo tt and I'm glad I did. I normally ride a 52cm Specialized Allez. I suggest you go with 50cm kilo tt.

In all seriousness, this is actually quite helpful. Based on a rather complete set of your body dimensions (which you obtain and enter into the website), it provides recommended ranges for different aspects of frame size. As mentioned above, top tube length is an important one, not just stand-over clearance.

All track bikes run "big" because of their tight geometry. The Kilo may be a bit tighter than the Dawes.

It may be prudent to go with the 50 and compensate for the smaller bike with the additional fitments. Seatpost, stem. Rather than locking yourself into a large bike that you won't ride due to discomfort.

Plus, you'll get a pro fit with the 50.

Up to you, though, in the long run. I would at least look at the geometry charts before deciding.

No problem. My buddy is about the same size as you, and his roadie is a 52cm.

He does have super short arms though, so he had to go with the 47cm. You should be fine with the 50cm. The 53 would likely be too big for you.

I don't have short arms! As Jaytron said though, my Specialized is a 52 with a ~53cm effective top tube length. The 47cm Kilo TT's top tube length is around 52cm and I would rather have a slightly shorter TT length than too big.

As Scrod said, before you just dive for the 50cm, go measure your current bike's tob tube and compare. I'm pretty much your exact size.

Uh, why. A 53 should fit fine for someone 5'10". Might as well post a list of what size people should get based on their height and inseam so people don't always have to ask/post a new thread.
