Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like colored tires. Except maybe white. My red sidewalls stay pretty decent looking.

Oh and nice looking bike Harold.

Because I typically don't like the way they look. The process for making them is also a bit different; I've heard that subsequently they don't perform as well. Meh.

but is that a reason reason that tires should be black? I see green tires in paris-roubaix, the pro race 3 come in various colors and are very sticky. Just because one companies gimmick product can only come in black, does that mean that another company can't make a good pink tire?

There are a lot of nice lookin' Felts on this thread. The blue/white/black is very sharp, and very coherently designed.

Great looking Jamis and Giant bikes up there. I can't say enough about how much I love my Giant Bikes, always have. Really nice pickup for the cash on the Satellite there.

No reason to add powdered carbon to the sidewall coating; that's why traditional high-quality bike tires had tan sidewalls. The carboned tread was bonded onto the latex-coated fabric casing giving a tan sidewall.

Sure looks a lot bigger than my 60 did. Maybe that's also because my saddle was a lot lower and the CAAD tubes are fatter:

that has to be one of the best looking 60cm frames i've seen. doesn't look out of proportion like most 60cm+ frames.

big bikes with compact geo look out of proportion. big bikes with traditional geo look normal. big bikes like mine with italian geo can look kind of weird.
