Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My single speed was born tonight. Chain line sucks due to a bent deraileur hanger. I'd actually like to run a 39/16 but the single speed chains rub if on the inner chainring. I need to get some washers so I can take the outer one off, keep the inner ring secure, and have a straighter line. For now though, this will get me to the bar and back Crappy cell pic but you get the idea.

Bikes not light enough. It's more than 1/10 of my body weight. Keep working.

I'm fat at 148lbs, so it is lighter than a 1/10th of my body weight. A few more bits, and I will have it sub 14lbs though. I'm still waiting on the new carbon S-Works Toupe to be released, and my Force brakes, and quite heavy. Probably gonna pick up a red cassette too. Then I'm done. BTW I like the new pics of your bikes.

Yep, Romin is much better. Toupe is only on the other bike because I had it sitting around after switching to the romin.

I am Toupe rider and switched to a Romin for a few days and honestly I felt very little difference. Both saddles were very comfortable.

I've never ridden a Romin, but it weighs more than the Toupe, and the Toupe is awesome. So no reason for me to try anything heavier.

I felt a lot of difference. The toupe made a burning feeling after an hour, the romin does not.

The Romin has more of a flip on the tail, where the Toupe is flatter. That's the major difference besides the weight.

And the fact that the cut out turns into a groove all the way to the tip of the nose. That's the difference it makes for me, much more comfy in the drops.

I'll try the Romin then, I do have numbness every once in a while with Toupe, and my butt hurts on long rides.
If I don't like it, maybe I'll toss it your way.

Funny how saddles can feel so different to different people. I can ride the Toupe all day with no discomfort and I felt the Romin would have been the same. Maybe if I did more climbing the Romin would have shined more.....

Kay. I use the Toupe for cross since I'm only on it for 45 minutes at a time, and my butt is the part of my body in the least pain in a race.

Yeah, the Toupe is the best thing I've bought in the past year. That includes allot of stuff too. I can't wait to buy another one in a few weeks, and retire this one to the winter bike. Come on Specialized release it already.

I JUST checked the dealer website and mid Dec is what it shows but that is in no way gospel. I would take the rep's word over what I saw.

Yeah MZ, told me the same thing a little bit ago. He works at a Specialized shop too. I have a feeling it may be one of those things that never get released. I mean a 104g saddle for $250 with the comfort of the Toupe design. It definitely sounds too good to be true.
