I am not a huge fan of the color scheme, but a paint job is known to fix a lot of ills? I also happen to love the ride of Champion no. 2. Very tempting. Let me think about it a little longer. I am imagining the 600 group from the Cannondale, and a Ford King ranch brown with orange or gold striped lugs. I am going to be doing some paint work on my 98 Ford which also happens to be custom painted the very same color. The frame looks like a 25" though, if I'm not mistaken? Not bad though, since they fit me a little better in top tube length. The 23 inch kind of fits, but it is definitely a racy fit. How about the shifter mounts? Are they standard square base? I need a bike to put my Retrofriction shifters on!

Here is the color in the background, the day I picked up my 1950 F-1. Speaking of the upper color of course. Below that is my 85 custom painted Super Sport with Full Sante group. It looks like the same frame construction almost, but made of Columbus Tenax. It also has no eyelets whatsoever, so the ones on your frame will come in handy.,,,,BD

Fair enough. Cannondales aren't for everyone. I love their mtb's, since the fatter tires absorb a lot of road shock. Their road bikes, you kind of have to be in the mood for. Stiff but very sporty, and nice power transfer while out of the saddle. I wish I had my green Cad 2 back. It was a little bit smaller frame than I usually use, and I installed wide bars. It was a race car.,,,,BD

^^^Well, if you got the spraygun out and $500 qt. paint, hardener, reducer,..... LOL. If you're losing sleep over it , I can pull all the numbs for you. But for now seat tube (ctr. to ctr. of top tube) is 63cm and the top tube (c to c) is 59cm. I could get by riding it if swapping to a 'stache bar but just a bit tight for the jewels er' standover. Agree on the tube set. Not sure what blend or if all of the tubes are C2 but its a fine rider. Can't say how it sprints because its too big for me to even jump out of the saddle. Although I have a spec frame built RRB -non custom- with the same tubing and its one of my all time faves for comfort. That said, I think that era and series Super Sports are pretty cool and versatile. Tighter geometry when you gotta' dig for the fast twisty's PLUS it has all those sweet tour ready braze-ons. Should mention, right now its fitted with 700 x 35C... no issues.

Its no biggie whether it goes or keep. As mentioned, if the frame goes the Cyclone parts w/ triple will make my wife happy with a retro rider having all the gearing she'll ever need. If it stays, always good to have a few sized and decent riders in the fleet for guest. BTW: Fellow BF member Steve W. is coming over in the AM and were heading out for a ride. I gather he's big into Schwinns so if I'm missing something maybe he could share with you as well.

Yep, flathead V8. Later style truck motor though, with the longer water pump shafts and wide belts. Do you have an aluminum dual carb intake and/or center dump headers? Otherwise it runs fine!,,,,BD

^^BD- Won't be near the shop this week but will buzz my bro' and check on the intake. Have a block number? Lots of stuff stashed and buried. I think there's a pair of early Edelbrock finned ally heads too. Have to check how many stud hole and verify condition. At first glance they're pretty and had been polished but I say with hesitation.... milled. Trying to think back why they're sitting at the bottom of a shelf. Might have been for some higher compression build only compatible with appropriate pistons, dist., cam, etc..

Probably should take this topic off-line or PM.

Hi again, I noticed that the pictures I posted were pretty dirty and it was hard to see some of the good stuff like clean decals and some of the bad stuff like scrapes on the fork. So here goes again hoping for some action. like a homeless or unwanted 57-59 steel frame.

Check classifieds, I'm selling or trading my 54cm, same bike. I can't ride 60 sorry. I'd do something with eyelets. Id also trade the bike for a modern ultegra crankset, or cassette wheels.

Scozim, What's the deal with this bike? Is it sentimental or a great rider. Curious ... I ride a 60 or larger.

It's actually my dad's bike that he gave me but too tall for me to ride. I had held off on trying to trade for a frame that fits me until he was ready. After falling this summer and having a partial hip replacement he was ok with me trading for a smaller SV frame. My brother has my original PSV that looks just this one but I can't pry it out of his hands (my bad for giving it to him in the first place).

I love the ride of the Super Vitus frames which is why I'm looking to trade this frame to a similar one.

I'm really wanting to move this out of my pile. It is a nice light, stiff Miyata 710 which was pretty close to the top of the chain.
Miyata called it a 50cm but it is 48cm c-c, trade for any good frame 56cm. Frame & fork only.
I would be happy with trades for parts too.

Up for trade, a 58 cm Bianch that is in good shape for a used bike. No rust but there are chips in the paint. Includes frame, fork, headset, seat post, handle bars sugino botton bracket and cranks, modolo breaks, suntour sprint 9000 front and rear derailer and suntour. I'm looking for a 50-54cm frame that gives a nice spirited ride. I want a Bianchi but other brands will be considered.

Bike is nice and I'll have to pass on it. I want to move my DA 74xx to a frame that fits if possible. The dent is not scary looking and I've used the bike as a commuter this summer with no worry.
