JanMM....good for you!

Seems everyone's turning in big miles these days.

Short rides for me though, too many other constraints. A nice 4.5 mile commute home before dawn this morning. Clear sky, calm, 37F with a Dew Point of 37F...kinda dewy but pleasant just the same.

I guess I'll hit the Airdyne before going to bed.

EDIT: And I did get a nice ride on the Airdyne when I got home. 20 miles in 66 minutes while listening to the sounds of Woodstock from 40 years ago. No wind, no traffic, and a balmy 65F in the basement this morning! Ahhhhhhhh !!

Of coure I realise that indoor rides don't really count....

Damn, crashed on some wet leaves with only 3K to go in my ride, just as I was warning my riding companions to watch out for the wet leaves

Landed on my hip and my helmet did hit the ground. It did not seem too bad, no damage to the bike, and made it home ok. However, must have pulled something on the way down, as I am limping now. Luckily, today is a rest day, so hopefully by Tuesday I will at least be able to do my swim workout. Will skip the gym and run part. This is also a recovery week in the monthly cycle, so hopefully.......

Did get 43K in for a total of 153K for the weekend.

No riding today but I have been doing some bike related work in the garage. Hung hooks for 3 of the bikes and installed a new shelf to hold more bike equipment Now I just need to find a place to hang the other two bikes.

A tick over 31 today, wore just my bibs with a long sleeve base layer and a short sleeve jersey. I think I should have worn more, it was a tad chilly when I got home. I rode after work and it is getting pretty close to when I won't be able to do any riding after work, like in a week when the clocks change. Bummer.

Nine or so miles on Assateague Island, with my grand daughter in the trailer. We saw the wild ponies and had a great time being chased by the waves.

I rode the Red skinny tire divil after installing new wheels and tires on advice from the fine bike mechanic at walmart.I wish he was able to fix bikes off the street but he only does Walmart gear. Ive been all over those original wheels but cant find anything that would pinch or cut the tubes but the spokes were loose so rather than use them I switched to wheels I had at home.No flats today;I enjoy rideing this Univega it has a large frame that fits me well and the 6 gear set on the back wheel are large so I dont have to huff and puff so on the hills. / Still more good effort than I use on the 21 and 24 speed mtn bikes./Kenneth

No ride today but did a 32 miler yesterday, 10/27/09. I need 23 miles to get over the 200 for the month which will likely happen tomorrow with forecast calling for partly cloudy in the morning before rain return in the evening rush hour.

None yesterday due to rain but I did get in 24.5 today. Could have gone a little longer but it looked like it was going to rain again and I just didn't want to take a chance.
Hope to get a day or two more before the month is over, looks like I might get one

My wife drove in to the hospital for minor surgury early this morning. Since the procedure would involve general anesthesia, she would not be able to drive back. I decided I would work at home so that I could ride in and drive her home. It was a pleasant dawn ride of about an hour.

Back from a week long vacation. Practiced and trained for cyclo cross tonight. Warm up, dismount and mount drills, Zone 5 hill repeats followed by two x 20 minute race pace intervals. It was muddy and my bike and riding clothing both needed special attention once home.

Just the opposite, right after work and the deer where near the end of the ride very close to dusk. Well within a hour.
I almost missed them too as they were closer to the end then earlier in the year and I was not expecting to see any there.

Did the mail and banking via bike, living dangerous. No helmet or gloves, just a golf hat. Vegas drivers are nasty people to share the road with. I better stay on dirt.
