Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Broken part :( help

This part that secures the seat tube in the frame snapped today after being cracked for a while. I was a dumb **** and tightened it too far and make it crack in the first place. Does this mean I'm going to replace the frame or can I just have this part replaced? I apologize for the huge pic but tiny pic is sucking and wont let me re upload it to msg board size..

From what it looks like you can just buy a new seatpost clamp and be done with it. Just pull it off the seat tube and take it to your LBS and get a new one.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I wish BD would spend $1 more on their seatpost clamps. They're some heavy soft metal.

Time to utilize the spare parts bucket in the back of your shop closet.
