Trying to source a Veteran Freewheel with odd threads
Hi,
I am fortunate enough to have a 1909 Chater Lea (motor bicycle) which has 2 x odd sized threads on the rear hub. I want to fit a single freewheel for pedal-starting purposes, but i can find neither a freewheel nor a lockring.
The freewheel thread is 1.625" and the lockring thread is 1.562". Having failed elsewhere, it occurred that someone on this forum might be able to help - does anyone know where I can buy one from (pref in the UK) or has a spare or worn one that I can get a new gearwheel welded on to?
Thanks folks!

I hadn’t considered there might be an industry supporting classic cycles so that’s a good point as a last resort, thanks. I’ll see if anyone has one first.
Cheers

Check out the Wheelmen Club - the wheelmen.com They are focused on restoring and riding bicycle made prior to 1932 and many of them are 'turn of the century', 1900 or so. There is a chapter in Europe. Their coordinator is in North Newbald, Yorkshire. They may be able to help, either members or known suppliers.
