Why no reviews for this very cheap bike with excellent specs

Hello all,

I cannot get Cube Attain GTC PRO disc 2017 in 56 cm so I decided to look elsewhere for a bike I could fit wider tyre on. Gravel bike. Found this one, but I cannot find any reviews. Specs look really good, full carbon, ultegra, for 1000 GBP? What am I missing? Ok breaks seems to be bad, but still mechanical disc. What bothers me is only 11-28 in the back, I think climbing with this bike will be hard. Other than that, some very good specs and I could not find better bike for this price, at least not full carbon + ultegra + wide tyre clearance + more endurance riding positions which is all I am looking for.

Bike price: 1040 GBP

Blue Prosecco EX Ultegra Carbon Gravel Bike
Introducing Blue's line of performance carbon endurance/gravel bikes. The Prosecco EX is specifically designed to provide comfortable positioning and offer a smooth ride, regardless of the conditions. The increased head tube height allows for a more upright position to increase comfort, while still providing a racing positioning. To increase the comfort of the Prosecco frame design, the highly compliant seat stays absorb the imperfections of the any path you decide to venture down!

Frameset

  • Frame: BLUE-TEC High Modulus UD T-700 Carbon Disc
  • Fork: BLUE-TEC High Modulus Carbon Disc

Wheels
  • Wheels: Aerus Quantum 30-AL Disc - 700c
  • Tyres: Hutchinson Nitro2 - 700x28c

Drivetrain
  • Gear/Brake Levers: Shimano Ultegra 6800

  • Rear Derailleur: Shimano Ultegra 6800
  • Chainset: Shimano Ultegra - 36/46T
  • Cassette: Shimano 105 5800 - 11/28T
  • Chain: KMX X11
  • Pedals: Not included

Components
  • Saddle: Aerus
  • Seatpost: Aerus SP-700
  • Handlebars: Aerus CR11M
  • Grips: Black Handlebar Tape
  • Stem: Aerus AS007N
  • Brake calipers: Hayes CX COMP Mechanical Disc

thanks for help

I guess you and I have a vastly different idea on what the word "very cheap" means. 1040 British pounds converts to US$1,382. I doubt many on this site would call that cheap. Google on the bike name and at least one review will come among the several for the version that is double in price. Ignore them.

Retail is only $1800. Doesn't sound out of line in pricing, especially if it is a model year old or has been sitting around a shop for a while or on any other manner of sale.

#1 , Who is BLUE-TEC ? Seems like a name made up by the importer, applied by a big OEM factory, in TW.

That's a CX bike being marketed as a gravel bike. The geometry is pretty much straightforward CX, will only clear up to a 38mm tire, and it's got CX chainrings and a road cassette on it.

It looks... okay. I'm not wowed.

If you google "blue prosecco bike" you'll find a little info. Not much info, because, I assume, they haven't got a good marketing operation up and running and they're very popular.

Many people around here seem to think that anything over $500 is super expensive. Lot's of birds...Cheap cheap, cheap cheap.

From what I know Blue is low cost online frames usually with decent components (at least from what I have seen). Probably a generic frame out of Asia with a random company name they are using. Not anything bad from what I have seen and if nothing else you could still get a decent groupset out of it and sell the frame if you wanted.

$1382 usd is a good price for a bike running a mostly Ultegra kit. The brake calipers are not so nice, neither is the chain. Could be a generic Asian made from whatever factory they struck a deal with. Probably rides fine. If it fits, ride it.

The obviously copy and pasted text is a dead giveaway.

Thanks for help to all. And not, it is not an add. Just trying to buy my first road/gravel/cx bike.. Will pass on this deal, because the bigger size they have is 53.5 cm and I would need 55-57. On top of that I do not like road gears on it, specially at the back.

With a sloping top tube, very tall stack height and low bottom bracket there is nothing about this bike that says CX. It's a gravel bike.

Randombikeparts had them for sale last year. I think they were less than $1000 with the discount code. I didn't get one because the headtube was way too tall for me.
