The Paletti is built!!!

So, it's finally done. Built up with a nice used Chorus 9 Speed setup and currently using some Velomine handbuilt wheels. I'd like to find some really shiny tubulars for it down the road. As built in the pictures it's weighing in at 20 lbs and 13 ozs and is really beautiful My pictures don't do it justice.

Man that bike is cool .

Hate to be the one that asks, but is that headset locknut fully threaded on? I see a gap.

That's ridiculous. I mean, we obviously don't exactly share aesthetic ideals, but damn... Just incredible!

Well I'm glad you asked because you are right. Looked at it this morning as I got ready for work.

I got called in Sunday afternoon and worked all night due to a "problem" So I was working on no sleep yesterday when I picked this up and obviously it was missed when they "finaled" the build There is a spacer in there but I'll make sure it tightens down right today or get another spacer in there. Thanks for spotting and saying something, I was so out of it yesterday, too old to miss sleep now days, LOL!

And I need to reroute that rear brake cable....

Beautiful bike. Building up an EL Rossin as we speak!

Did you polish the components yourself?

Make sure you share that Rossin when you get 'er done.

The components were in pretty good shape when I picked them up. I did give them a thorough cleaning and degreasing and did break out the metal polish for some parts. I wish I could have gotten more shine out of the QR's but the endcaps were pretty rough.

I will. Had to make touch up from nail polish since it is an odd colored frame. Also made the mistake of polishing clean the Campy Record crankset since there was a ton of pedal rub. No I have to get rid of the rest of the anodizing.

The groupset I bought as a bargain was a bit more work to get ride worthy...plus I am still trying to identify the rimset/wheels I picked up...it was a snowball thing.

Well good luck with it and keep at it. We've all had those projects that just seemed to grow and grow.
