Once More - a Kid!!

One of the things that I love about bicycling is that I can - in my mind, at least - return to the more carefree days like when I was a kid - riding my bicycle all over, no goals to worry about, just have fun.

This morning - out with the Rockhopper at 6:45, temp 46F, challenging the single track we have near my home for about an hour (the rising sun shining through beautiful autumn gold leaves), then some cement trail riding, then stop by McD's for a quick breakfast, then to the Senior Center arts and crafts show where I bought some "Monkey Butter"**********, then off to the pool for a refreshing swim, then home.

Then, my son, Andy, came over with his helper, and we walked a fast mile as he pedaled his 3 wheeler.

It was a great worry-free, relaxed, exercise-filled morning!!

Just wanted to share. No responses required.

Good for you. Sounds awesome.

What's "Monkey Butter"? And why would you want to buy some?

Yes I like the carefree nature of bike riding. It dissolves any worries I have.

It is like a jam/apple butter kind of thing and the sample tasted good!

Sounds interesting. One more question: to make this "Monkey Butter", do they milk the monkeys (like cows and goats), or is the process more akin to what they do to peanuts and cashews . . .

Dude - you're not supposed to eat that stuff, you're supposed to slather it on your chamois.

You've got it all wrong. Monkey Butter, of course, is made by monkeys - using churned coconut milk.

Hey, that's my sigline!

There's a jersey out there somewhere that has that statement on it. Pretty much tells it like it is.

That's what Monet was going for but never quite nailed it. Frame it.

I resent the fact that your sunrise temperature is warmer than mine. Colorado is supposed to be cold.

Yeah!! I checked the temp and also the wind - NO wind. I was going to do resistance exercises - but, with it being only 46F with no wind - I HAD to get out there.

If it makes you feel any better, it is 43F right now.

I'm riding with a friend from Alaska and his son (from Denver) tomorrow, but we won't start until about 9:00 am.
