Post Your Titaniums

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here's some better pics. The frame is from the 'quill days', but wanting a new fork I managed to
dig up some real slim spacers. The with of steerer + spacers are sub 1-1/8"
The weight is also quite decent @ 16.4lbs (7.44kg)...That's just a bonus, not a quality....

Looks nice with a solid weight, but I have to say it looks like you could have gone up at least one size.

This is an old bike with new components. The frame is from the days of quill stem/threaded bearing
that added quite a bit of handlebar height. The measurements/angles that matters (and not just looks) are spot on

The finished bike. Unfortunately, I couldn't take it to Palomar yesterday but I guess I will have to make the most out of tomorrow before I fly back to the snow.

I'm using 2011 Record shifters, 2010 Record Brakes, and a Chorus Cassette. I still need to dial in the FD a bit but I guess I will do that after I fly back to NYC.

I just got back from a 50-ish mile ride looping from Santiago Canyon then around PCH along to coast in Orange County and the bike is just so sweet! I'm not even sure how long the ride was or how slow I was going because I decided not to put a computer on the bike.

I'm not sure if it's the frame geometry or the fork or a combination of both but the bike is just super stable. Plus, it helps that the bike was fitted around me and not the other way around. I think I would be able to descend the Stelvio with no hands, although I probably won't try it next time I'm out there.

Your bike is going to be ridiculously agile, being 500+ grams lighter than mine--a road hog on steroids!

I didn't know they made Titanium mini-velo's.

Currently has headset, fork, BB, and seat post installed. Don't have time to finish the build.

Nice Cooper. What size frame is that, and what are your dimensions? Does it fit you well? Also, is that the hand brushed finish?

It's a medium brushed finish with a 90mm stem. 5'7" with a 30" inseam. Fits perfectly!

Lynskey/Planet X Titanium Sportive Road Bike

Lightweight and ultra strong, yet and fluid enough to suck the sting out of back road centuries, titanium is the perfect material for long distance challenge rides. Selle Italia saddle
FSA Compact Omega drop bars
Shimano Ultegra SL Ice Gray compact crankset
