Garmin cadence sensor not found!
I have Edge 510 and I bought a Garmin cadence sensor 2 months ago
Garmin Cadence Sensor: HeartRateMonitorsUSA.com
This morning, I all of the sudden had no cadence. Tried to pair it again, no sensor found. Put in a new battery, no sensor found.

I had almost this same problem with mine. First make sure there isn't anything on the contacts of the sensor or the battery, not sure what it does but Garmin puts something on there, probably to avoid corrosion. Then SLOWLY pedal for 2-3 revolutions and you should see the sensor flashing green a few times. That means it is activated so try re-scanning for the sensor and it should work then.
So far this has worked for me. I usually would spin the pedals fast and it wouldn't pick it up but since I started doing it slowly til it recognized it, no problems. Hope this helps you but if it doesn't check out the Garmin forums and lots of people will be having similar problems with sensors. I checked it and it helped.

apparently I'm an idiot. Didn't get the battery cover on tightly enough. Fixed that and sensor works. Still disappointing that battery dies in 2 months. At this rate that adds $20/year in cost of ownership to a $40 part

If your cadence sensor goes though a battery in 2 months, something is wrong with the sensor or battery. I've used one for over two years and haven't changed the battery yet.

If you're not already doing so, turn off the Garmin Edge at the end of each ride. This will help to save battery life. Some batteries sit on the shelf and lose some life and there are differences in manufacturers. Two months is much shorter than average.

It was the stock battery that came with it. About 25-30 hours of use and I do turn my edge off after rides and even if I don't I think it has auto off after 10 minutes of so. It is possible the batteries drained on shelf do hopefully I'll have better luck going forward

Don't assume your speed sensor came with a fresh battery. It was probably some stale old thing they got off the back shelf.
Mine died last week and I can't get it working again either.

The battery that came in mine died shortly after I received it as well. My new battery is almost two years in and still working.
Also, you can probably get a 10pk of the batteries from Amazon for under $5...I can't remember what I paid, but it wasn't much.

If you leave the magnet on your crank close to the sensor, it will pick it up and transmit the data - even if the head unit is not present or off.
