I saw an X-Mas-themed TV ad before Halloween.

It might be because Jesus was born a Jewish, & in ancient times the mortality rate was so high it took a few years of being around before you were considered to be a live human baby. So what we have is a counting convention to account for.
Sooo, 2057 birthday candles?
I sure hope he'll forgive me if I'm off by a few.

Retailers who got burned during the 2008 crisis now get their holiday merchandise in and out early. Halloween comes in September, but good luck finding items in October. Thanksgiving is hot on the heals of Halloween, usually the same time. Good luck finding Thanksgiving decorations in November. Christmas trickles in with Halloween. Lingers into December, but good luck finding much after the first week. I had a hard time finding a particular type of Christmas string light this past weekend.

I'd settle for freezer wrapping.

Don't forget once Christmas has come and gone, it's time to break out the wallet for all the useful swim wear and summer wear... in January.
There's something that has gone on forever. Summer clothing for sale in the dead of winter and winter clothing for sale in the dog days of summer.

I grew up in Connecticut where it snowed a lot. Seattle doesn't feel very xmasy. But going up to the mountains always changes that.
