Here is another one. Jerry Ash winning the Westwood Grand Prix in 1975. I met him several years ago while riding in the Santa Monica mountains and he couldn't have been any nicer. We talked about mutual friends and he waited for me at the tops of all the climbs.

Considering how he wasn't born until 7 years later maybe it's his father.
It's this guy. https://www.riversidesporthalloffame...-skip-cutting/

There's this Italian guy who is in his mid 50's and was a former pro back there, but nothing big. Anyway, you talk to him about racing or power meters, and his replies are always so old school its hilarious.
"These things (pointing at my power meter) they do nothing. I know how fast I go because I pedal fast. The bike is light because I put nothing on it."

You know what, **** shipping companies. My delivery has been in California for 7 to 8 days bouncing around, with a final destination of NC. Like, seriously? WTF.
It isn't hard. Origin ->hub->hub->maybe a 2nd hub->local->house.

When USPS can get a small box across the country in 2-4 days for $7, why would I pay UPS ground $16 to take a week and a half?

This year, rather than the announcement coming in a sealed letter, they had squadron based ceremony. Each of the 40 squadrons is about 100 cadets with about 25 receiving job assignments.
About 50% are "pilot qualified". Those not getting their 1st choice of jobs were spoken to earlier.
Squadron 39 is the Jedi Knights. Most of the squadrons have names of characters, many owned by Disney. I understand they do not pay royalties, and understand this has been the case for decades.
Not being a trademark expert, I recall lots of little league teams used to use trade marked stuff. As this is a school, and there is no profit associate with it, maybe the trade mark laws are different, or just overlooked.

I think the government is technically immune from copyright law. I'm not a lawyer though and I'm too lazy to find a citation.

The government isn't exempt from copyright laws, but the artistic rendition of an X-Wing "probably" won't elicit any legal response from Disney. It'd be legal busywork for the lowest IP guy in the company. No money is being made off of the use, so Disney would have another reason to go into litigation. Worst case: Disney suddenly takes on a stout anti-military stance and finds out about the use (they may have no clue). They'll send a C&D to the Air Force, and the Air Force administration will send a dry order down the chain of command to pull the image. Sadly, the only people that would notice or care about the change would be the underpaid IP guy at Disney and anyone under E-5.
Now here's where it gets odd: Because the image is now on a government document, it could erroneously be considered "fair use". BUT, it's fair use of a copyrighted image, so technically Disney could pursue action against both the government and the person attempting to distribute the image they got from the Air Force.

Three people got laid off this week. One of them with 22 years of service. Two that I know of had had some performance issues, but nothing super major, and they had been told that they work on it and stuff is fine. But their overhead charges were high and they were expensive, so they're gone.
And there isn't a plan to send any sort of notification to the greater company, or tell the managers what to tell people (I'm going to tell my people they're fine, because they're billable and good) but that's how you incite a panic and get people looking for other stuff for real.
I'd have something lined up in 48 hours if I got let go, so I'm not really worried, but it's just incredibly stupid to not put out any sort of communication at all. I don't get it.
