Wait a minute, the stock car? Do we know about this? I’m relatively new, but I feel like I would have noticed the stock car. I know about merziac ’s drag bike, and somebody’s cool Westfalia, but not the stock car. Do you drive it? And to quote Il gugie ”Pics or it didn’t happen!”

JacobLee,
There are pics in the BOC series 8 when I first made the liner. I sponsor a friend who drives and owns the car. I give him some cash from time to time to help pay for things like fuel and tires. In return I have a space on the right side of the car for advertising. That is the billboard side that the fans see during the race. Race cars are like having a thirty minute commercial in front of the fans.
Series 8 has been closed, but you can still access the thread go to BOC series 8 and watch post 47-53 smiles, MH

Very cool! I missed that one. So, bikes, golf clubs, and stock cars; talk about eclectic! I’m glad you don’t drive it, that would be going a bit too far. Hey, maybe there’s a member who sponsors a Formula One team, and our next liner can be carbon fiber?

I have passed the Box o' crap

It took me longer than normal, but I have passed the Box o'crap on to its next destination. I am VERY pleased with my take, although I am now on the search for more campy stuff...

Our fearless keeper of the crap @Mad Honk will know where the campy is going..
The bottle holder is a perfect match for my State fixed gear.

P.s.. the new bo'c stickers are GREAT... I need to get more to replace the old ones I already have.

Reco Very, and all Crap-A-Teers,
I have sent enough of the new stickers for most to refresh the stickers that have failed on previous builds. I will send extras along to the BOC recipients to keep the sticker supply in the BOC up to date for quite a while. For those who need refresher stickers the best way is to sign up for receiving the exalted BOC (and stickers are in the BOC). For the very few that have participated in series nine and do not have access to the new stickers, you may contact me and I will send new decals to you as you participated before the new decals were created.
For Reco Very, I think I put the crank in the Box and don't remember whether it was the model that had the left handed removal rings on the arms. If it is, be careful about the removal rings because they are hard to come by. Perhaps by using a drop of lock-tite to keep them in place. Glad I could help with your build, Smiles, Maestro Honk

Maybe after a couple more pours some of this crap will start to look good. 23 pounds, by the way. Stickers look great.

Okay, I did my best to reduce some bork-age and increase some stoke-age, but I’m not sure I succeeded. At least it’s going out the door three pounds heavier!

If anyone wants the plastic mtb levers, or a single Altus canti arm, let me know. Otherwise…

I really like this era of Suntour derailleurs. They just seem so beautiful, but in a sturdy, no-nonsense way. My 71 International has Suntour derailleurs from an ‘87 Hardrock, just because I think they look the business.

A BOC sticker, of course.

A Stabila sticker, because they make builders’ levels, not bike parts, and I own a few of them.

My daughter really liked the patch with a bunch of stuff on it because it reminds her of treasure chests in Minecraft. My wife used Google Lens to identify the image, and it’s called “Bag of Holding Patch”. Seems appropriately placed in a Box O’ Crap.

My wife liked the League of American Bicyclist patch, because we were in a patch mood.

The News and Views mag has approximately two months of bedtime reading material, after which time I’ll probably own a three speed.

Alright ascherer , it’s coming your way as soon as I hear back from you.

Thanks all!

BOC begins it’s cross country road trip from a drizzly Portland today. I thought about hand delivering it, but with gas prices these days, and I’d break the rules concerning time limits if I rode my bike, so USPS is taking it.

My lovely wife recently purchased a Leesa mattress (foam and spring). Like most foam mattresses, it comes in a vacuum sealed bag, rolled up in a box. While their FAQ tells you the mattresses are rated for individuals weighing up to 350 pounds, they don't bother to tell you the darn thing weighs over 130 pounds! The delivery person (FedEx I believe), just left it outside our front door. We had to get it up a flight of stairs to our unit.

I feel ya! We have a Leesa in our city apartment and a Plank in our upstate house. They are beefy.

The BOC made it to Manhattan swiftly, arriving with a grunt and a thud in two short days as promised.

The reveal - so that's where I put my 2019 taxes! I guess nobody wants that crap...

I'll be heading to my northern outpost for the weekend and will curate my crap to augment the fine bits I'm discovering within. It should be on the move again sometime in the first half of next week.

This appeared today…how interesting that it appears to be on an annual orbit!

Status: I have selected some lovely odds & sods from the BOC and over the weekend I sorted through my own crap, plucking some tarnished gems to forward to new forever homes. I’ll need some time before I can drag it back to USPS, that will be done by Friday-Saturday at the latest. @morri869 I PM’d you for shipping info.

And it’s off to the next lucky forumite! 26 pounds and 10 ounces per the friendly USPS helper. My take, in two passes:

Thanks to all for the lovely bits. I added what I hope is some very choice Crap that needs a good home. I’ll be watching!

Does that MAFAC bag contain a toolkit? What kind of derailleur is that?

There are a few rusty tools in the MAFAC kit, not a full set. 3 wrench/tire levers and the large double end. All with a healthy patina of rust that’ll brass brush off. I have a few other surviving bits but probably still short of a full kit. The RD isn’t labeled, it’s a Suntour somethingorother. Looks like a Sprint?
