GPS holder, which one do you use, and why?
Today we were talking with some cicling friends, we shared why we like a particular model of gps holder instead of other.
Let's expand this argument to the forum.
wich one do you use and why.
Let me start:
I prefer using the "arm type" it seems more easy to read the gps because the high angle (eye-stem's camp and gps). Also because will make the look the cockpit more clear and flattered too.

I see many folks use K-Edge, I think these are aluminum. Nice, but a bit pricy. I use some Garmin out front mounts I’ve accumulated, plus a Velo Endeavor unit I got on Amazon. My concept is use cheap plastic and sacrifice the mount instead of the Garmin quarter turn assembly, although I use a 1040 which is now metal. My 2 mountain bikes have mounts that install on the stem cap and put the device directly over the stem, instead of in front of the bar. Theory is not as likely to take a hit and ai crash more often on my mt. bike.

I have a well-worn built-in mount for my GPS! I'm not one to constantly look at my "bike computer" so this serves me well. It keeps track of my rides and all of my sensors and stats.

I use K-EDGE mounts. They're high quality and absolutely rock solid. Great if you also mount a light or GoPro to the same mount.

I have the Silca mount that attaches to the stem bolts. it is rock solid. I also have the Garmin out front mount on one bike and the bar-mounted twistlock on several other bikes.
no particular complaints on any of them.
and drlogik the Fenix 6 is a great watch ! Esp with custom dial

I got hooked on RAM mounts many years ago, unfortunately, they haven't kept up with all the electronics available today. I even put off upgrading things for a while because I couldn't get a RAM mount for the new hardware. It's a shame because I had a lot of faith in their mounts. They never broke or lost a piece of equipment no matter how much abuse they got. I used their mounts on everything from bicycles to ATVs to snowmobiles. I worked in S&R for quite a few years till I retired. We abused stuff on a regular basis.

i use my phone rather than a standalone computer and recently switched to sp-connect from quad lock. both have been rock solid (quad lock slightly more solid, but bulkier hardware.)
the adapter for the sp-connect hardware to the one piece cockpit is little 3d printed bit i made.

Out front is preferred but I only have one mount so it goes on the nice bike with slammed stem (can't tell from photo). Stem mount for the rest of my bikes (incidentally I find it helps make the extended steerer less unsightly as well).

I prefer out front. Use the Garmin on the road bike for my 1030. For the FS mtb Fuel EX 8 I upgraded the nok block so I could use the top tube mount. Not a cheap mod. Plus the mount is metal so some concern I may fall on it and break the GPS tabs. But it does look cool. If I do a long adventure type ride I’ll put on an out front. On the Hard Tail I use the Garmin mtb mount.

A mix of K-edge (my preference, but spendy so not on all bikes) and Garmin out front.

I've got a K-edge out front holder on my main road bike and my Enduro bike. My gravel bike just has the stock Garmin mount.
On my XC bike, the 'out front' holders don't work well, as I'm usually running a number plate on it for racing. Luckily I have both a mill and a lathe in my shop, so I machined my own holder that replaces one of the spacers.

Rotary table too? Looks like you need a Scotchbrite wheel and some aluminum black, or cold blue if that is steel. Nice solution by the way.

Thanks. Yes, I've got a small rotary table, although the inner diameter of the circle was made with the 4-jaw on my lathe. I'm not a great machinist by any means, so I stuck to a pretty simple design. I thought about trying to dye it, but it's almost hidden when the Garmin is on it.
This is actually the 2nd computer mount I built, the first one I made replaced stem cap...but I thought that the original design was a bit too bulky, so I came up with the spacer version. Both of them are aluminum.

I usually use the garmin mounts that are held on with o-rings on my stem. I have one that replaces the stem cap for my mountain bike, but I have never put it on.
After I almost lost my gps while riding my gravel bike, I have started to use the lanyard that garmin provides.

Good note about the out-front mounts - unless it can accommodate lights on the bottom I found it to interfere with my bar-mounted lights. I ride with front and rear lights day and night so this is a big deal for me, and the stem mounts play a bit nicer with the front light but the bulk of the head unit does force me to move my light more laterally than otherwise.

Blendr system with GPS mount on top and light mount below works well on 2 Trek bikes. Clean and solid.

I have a mix, I use the Bontrager Blendr on my Domane, and K-Edge on my other bikes as I do not have Blendr compatible stems on them.

Long time Quadlock user here. My iPhone mounts directly over the stem.
Pretty firm attachment and - gulp - allows me to text occasionally.
In my opinion, if it sits too far forward, it becomes difficult to see, let alone text. haha
I use the Strava app to tally my stats. Always reliable.
