xt crankset fitment

I have a 2012 fuji sunfire and would like to upgrade the crankset. Will any xt m770, 3x9 fit on my bike? Most say 68-73mm, is this the one i need? If buying off ebay i want to make sure it will work.
thanks

Yes, it is compatible.

If the crank doesnt come with the bottom bracket, you'll need to buy it separately, any Shimano Hollowtech 2 for mountain bikes (deore, XT, etc.). The BB will come with spacers to use on a 68mm BB shell.

I see your bike ids a hybrid and comes with trekking chainrings (about 48/38/28T). If you go with a MTB crank with something like 44/32/22T, you'll want to lower the front derailleur.

All Shimano HT2 cranksets (of which the M770 is) come with a BB if you buy a retail retail boxed one, you would need to check the listing you are buying from, if getting from ebay. as for BB size, this isn't important for HT2 MTB cranksets, as they are all 73mm, and come with spacers (3 of) to to take it to 73mm if your shell is 68mm.

Edit: clafify all MTB HT2 cranksets inc a BB, road ones don't come with a BB in retail packs

True and a good point. To avoid this, you can get 48/38/28 in XT HTII as well. See here.
