What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

Great questions.
I just took them off and put them on my steel allroad bike that sees mostly pavement. Replaced them with Trigger Pros.
For gravel, even though they measured 38mm on these rims, there still wasn't enough air volume in them. I really needed the 38mm version.
I got the + because it was the only version my shop had, and this was an experiment. They are ever so slightly stiffer but they felt as fast as any gravel tire I've ever used, except for the Terra Speeds.
For Iowa gravel I would recommend the 38's in the non-+ casing. They're fast and grippy.

oh yeah the 43s will feel so plush. I definitely recommend the non plus version. Report back.

A set of hubs. It’s all I have of a gravel bike so far, the frame set isn’t going to get here until sometime in the spring.

Just installed Zipp 303 s wheels on my Diverge (expert). Very nice wheels - the bike feels livelier. I’m not a real fan of the 10 degree engagement so will fix that in future.

Got these Shimano MW7 winter shoes in a bit ago but recently got a chance to ride them in colder weather, no rain riding yet.

Fit is very similar to Sidi Dominators,, I got the same size as my Sidis for a great fit with lots of rooms for wiggling toes and thicker socks. Its not very cold here yet but at sub 40 they are very toasty, so much better than Sidis with a neoprene cover. I don't think these are as warm or as waterproof as other models but they should be enough for me in NYC and surroundings. Also got a blaclava, goggles, and windproof pants. I'm planning on doing some riding during times I previously would not have (sub 30s, wetter)

New tires! A touch slower on pavement than my worn out Switchback Hills, but they feel more secure on dirt and set up tubeless much more easily.

I replaced my WI 46/30T crankset with a GRX 46/30T, because I didn't want that extra tooth in the small ring. Do you notice it?

Not yet....I figure it is close enough to not make a difference...also with COVID nationwide, being laid off and no needing to ride to work, and then road construction, and COVID flocks everywhere, my fitness has gone to pot. Splurged for a crank powermeter mostly to boot my butt into shape, in conjunction with a Kickr and Rouvy once the snow hits. I've been on some hills around here on dirt that made me want a 30/28 previously...should be fine....especially if I get my butt back into shape.

BTW my SLK...I still don't know if something is busted internally or what. Shop is puzzled too. First I thought a pedal bearing (replaced them), replaced the BB thought there was a rough spot in a cup....finally replaced the crank and it is fine now. Would take a while to 'warm up' then once on every pedal revolutionI'd get a 'ker-CHUNK' I could feel through my cleats. Same spot in the crankarms roughly. No damage to spindle I can see. Bolts, cups, pedals, etc, were greased and torqued. Spacers. Everything. Only going theory is maybe a bad pedal threaded insert.

Didn't quite buy them for the gravel bike, since it's recent addition to the stable. However, I moved my frame bags and other gear from the hardtail MTB that I used to use as my gravel bike.

Not all day, but have used it a bit and recommend the shake dry jacket unreservedly (except price). Will be the same from any good manufacturer, I got the actual Gore jacket, but you need one of these in your kit. And get the unlined one, it folds up to less than half a jersey pocket and makes it easy to bring with you, for rain, an extra layer, or wind break.

The BroTector is most likely angled out more than intended, but because the rear Speedrocker fender is so short, there really isn't a way around that.

how did you get the Ass Saver to 'stick' to the Speedrocker? I'm wanting this extension for the front speedrocker's fender to avoid sand and grit thrown into the drivechain when gravelling.

following! I just strapped on a set of Speedrockers yesterday & found out quickly that I could really use this extension.

I followed the recommended instructions from Ass-Saver and drilled a couple of holes in the Speedrocket fenders and attached the flaps to the fenders via zip-ties. Very easy, very sturdy. You could choose to mount via nut/bolt as well, but after 2 seasons haven't found a need to do so.

Inexpensive but lightweight handle bar extension mount repurposed as a decaleur for my North St. Pioneer 12 bar bag. The bag was ok without it but on rough trails would bounce against the headtube. This actually makes putting the bag on/off the bike easier too.

The Redshift stem went on the bike yesterday. It's great.
