Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

You are likely going to be missing some paint when you wash away that mud.

Not a problem. I quickly washed the entire bike when I got home and all was well with the CF frame. Zero paint damage, err, not really paint on the frame... I didn't continue trying to ride once it loaded up. I found a stick to clean the mud blockage and get the wheels rolling for the mile ride home.

Nice build! A lot of people were awfully quick to write off 650b/27.5 but it's nice to have the option of a large volume tire without the weight of a full-blown 29er. And the Mezcal is a great tread- fast rolling but predictable.

Here's my first ever. It's a budget grinder. Everything free. Bike was a free Crossroads in stock form. Took most parts from a Winter beater mtb dropbar conversion I had and put them on this.
Have taken it out a couple of times and had a blast!

Super easy. I used a wire disc on my angle grinder for most of it and aircraft stripper for the hard to reach spots. "Sanded" the bare steel with Scotch bright and layed the paint. No finishing afterward. Pit it together an hour after I sprayed it.

This is how it looked before. I sprayed it on New Years Eve and while cruising Amazon I saw the purple and had to redo it.

No idea if the pure is durable or if its like most spray paint..

I've hone sprayed a few bikes with spray.bike paint and all have been durable. Its 85% prep and finish work that makes a good looking job also be durable.
There are tons of colors and its easy to use.
i did one 2.5 years ago and use it for road ride and on my trainer in the winter. No scratches yet, much less flakes. One of my kids has an mtb painted with it and its held great for a year. She is harder on any bike in 1 year than I am in 4.

The more research I do into components the more spot-on your build seems for my preferences. If work was more stable right now I'd be making my Topstone into a mostly identical twin.

Montana paints are designed for graffiti. There are different nozzles for different spray patterns. I'm sure durability is pretty meh.

With some warm weather I finally finished my SS GG.

An older Apollo, stripped down and refinished with gun blue acid and then clear coated with epoxy. Left the decal on the DT as homage.
A 700c flipflop wheelset instead of the original 27" rims allows for some 35mm Panaracer Gravel Kings.
When I can get them I want to replace the clipless pedals with some track pedals and metal toe clips to jibe with the vintage vibe.

Found some closely matching spray paint laying around for the frame pump too.

Pretty cool - like the color.

I'd like to know what you think of it.

I have recommended that particular bike many times on BF to people looking for a nice all-around/gravel bike - a good value for a steel bike and solid components. The Compass tires are a good choice - not the most robust tire in the world (although Compass now offers 'Endurance' and 'Endurance Plus' casings), but very cushy - are you running tubeless?

Love the bike thanks. Wanted something I could ride far and comfortably for hours at a time and I think I made a good choice.

If I kept the stock WTB Riddlers I would have gone tubeless - would have had to really because they were nearly impossible to remove from rim. Changing a tube out far from home would have been a disaster. I have used extralite Snoqualmies with tubes in the past and was very happy with them performance and durability wise.
