I've been mowing for a month.
Mowing Story
Thursday I was at the church where I mow the lawn. I walk around the corner of a building to a spot that overlooks a downhill sloping section of the lawn (note the proper singular form) and I see hundreds of bees buzzing around in a 20-yard wide cylinder.
wut
I've never seen anything like it, certainly not on that lot.
I went away for no more than five minutes, returned to see the swarm had disappeared.
wut x 2
I did see a few bees buzzing around a tree. Upon closer inspection I saw that they had congregated on a tree branch about 20 feet up. I assume a queen was there. Wild.
Made me appreciate the cray cray people who allow themselves to be covered by bees.

Hey datlas, if you recall, niece’s first choice school is Notre Dame. She just found out they’ll give her a 50% ride. So I’m guessing that’s where she’ll wind up.
Hope you figure out where to send your girl.
For what it’s worth, I was very upset that my parents would not let me go to my first choice school, St Johns College in Annapolis. They made me go to the University of NC Chapel Hill, where I got a full ride. I incurred at total of $500 in undergrad debt, had a great college experience, a wide array of opportunities and it really was an awesome choice for me. I never held it against my parents to have been pushed in a practical direction. Maybe because I loved where I wound up. Just saying: kids don’t always have to be indulged, they may well see it your way eventually themselves.

A wooden box for the compost making worms to live in. They've been in plastic buckets. This is more modular system. Pics later

Not for nothing, but if I were itching for an old-man metal bike, this Ribble Ti would be mighty tempting. Nice looking frame with the contrasting polished/sand-blasted finish, dropped stays, etc and starting at $2400 for 105 hydro disc. That's not bad. Not bad at all.

If you believe the babble, it's a smidge more aerodynamic and compliant. In my reality, it's mostly an aesthetic thing - the stays and oversized tubing sections, finish, etc. give it a modern appearance that's more in line with what appeals to me.

Not a huge fan of the fork shape, but I could forgive it as part of a package that's otherwise appealing.
