My frustration led me to post this thread so I could possibly gain some empathy from another somewhat tall rider that's in a similar predicament.

Are you out there?
Exactly the same for me...
The bike you are looking for probably does not exist. I ended up ordering a custom frame.. Waiting list can be loooooong (kala, naga), but I am sure there are a few frame builders that could solve your problem (like Othaki). You probably need a contact in Japan though. Japanese frame builders are a good option IMO (nice paint, they don't overcharge for chrome, sexy japanese touch, and prices are in the right range)

you're gonna want a bike built with sturdier tubes than most njs frames are built with for that size
steel's positive attributes reach a point of diminishing returns at about 57cm
a 60cm aluminum bike will often ride smoother than a 52cm steel one

Jeez, let go of the mystical aura of an antique 3Rensho and get a custom Yamaguchi.

hi, you can order an “original “ 3rensho in Japan, Konnos nephew still runs his company and they still make Keirin bikes. I ordered a 60 custom frame a few months ago, but with the pandemic there’s a supply problem so it still hasn’t been delivered. Waiting list is about a year I think

...I’ve seen a 59 SanRensho (3 Rensho) frameset for sale ... It was built for a Keirin racer with the nickname of “Godzilla”—Takizawa Masamitsu (5’11”) Pictured below is a Makino of his.

What’s worse is having a Nishiki Maxima, a ‘72 Raleigh Pro Mark IV, a 1995 Cannondale Silk Road, a NOS 2010? Novara Randonee and a 1990 Klein track bike that are all XL. Most are 65 cm and I have a 30” inseam. I CANT REACH THE PEDALS!!! I can look all I want but my leg extensions so I can ride them will have to wait till I have finished my hot tub time machine.
