Norwegian "Diamant" bicycle
Found this at a neighbors house...he was happy to send it home with me. It's apparently a Norwegian brand called Diamant. I found an online article about a men's version which is similar in many respects. https://schneebremse.wordpress.com/2...egian-diamant/.
Is there a way to determine the year of manufacture? Serial number is 238xxx.

IIRC this is one of the marques belonging to DBS Oeglaend of Sandnes
if you examine the small fittings you may filnd a DBS marking somewhere
the Diamant name can be a source of confusion as there is also a German and a Dutch Diamant, neither of which are related
DBS is yet in operation today but ceased cycle fabrication about thirty year back
today products which bear their name are contract manufactured in asia

The lines on this bike speak Northern European for sure.

"Diamant is a Belgian brand founded by an ex-professional rider August Simons in Bekkevoort, Belgium. It is known, that many of the frames were made by the Belgian frame builder Martens and this Diamant seems to be the case as well."
But as juvela says there is confusion over this brand and now even more since apparently a third branch of the Diamant tree that grew in Norway! News to me.
