As for the bike, just make sure everything is lubed and make sure it's clean/dry after.
There's something very cool about the solitude/adversity of a ride in the rain.

I like riding in the rain as well. I have an older road bike fitted with full fenders (SKS). I dont get covered in mud etc. Like Dr Pete said, for some reason, rides in the rain seem to be alot more quiet.

Don't ride in the rain.
Nor drive a car, or bring anything metal out into it. Actually, just skip going outside in the rain too. That Wicked Witch of the West learned that the hard way.

I rode for three hours this morning. It was raining much of the time.
I liked it.

Wet rides with light passing showers like today are fine. Rides during heavy thunderstorms with lightening last week, still ok, but I always wonder where that next bolt is coming down.
The beginning of this thread was well played - classic Botto.

I rode 60km yesterday and another 80km today. It rained the whole time. When the rain hits me, its as if angels' wings were brushing my skin...umm lets skip that.

I used to hate riding in the rain because of the labor involved. I hate cleaning my chain, getting the grit out of derailers, fretting about my hubs and bb.
Got me a single speed with fenders for rain and winter riding now. I towel it off and lube the chain after each wet ride, and other than that I don't worry about it except for once or twice a year when I put a new $13 chain on it.
Oh, I also stripped with a wire brush and painted it with many layers of rattle can enamel before I built it up.
I highly recommend it.

Otherwise, just make sure to wipe down the drivetrain, including the cassette, and re-lube the chain after you ride.
Also, watch out for manhole covers, rail road tracks, pained lines, etc. as they can get slippery in the rain.

When you crash on a rain-soaked road, you don't get much road rash. That's nice.
