Survey: What's Your Height & Frame Size?
Trying to gather some statistics on the range of frame sizes people ride.
Simple questions...
1. How tall are you?
2. How big a road bike frame do you ride? *
* For traditional (level top tube) frames, the seat tube length
* For sloping top tube frames, the top tube length
I'll start:
1. 5'11"
2. 56 cm
Edit: here's the data as of April 19, with 137 entries...
The scatter around the trendline is fairly tight, with a +/- of about 2 cm about the norm.
The trend line formula is:
Frame size (cm) = 0.99 * Rider Height (in) - 13.91
Plugging in my height of 71" gives a frame size of 56.4. Since I ride a 56, it looks like the prediction works for me. How about you?

Different manufacturers measure their frames differently. All my bikes have sloping top tubes, except my old 21" Nishiki -- which is a bit big for me.
So: 5' 4" = 74cm leg
My Marinoni Ciclo: 47ST 54TT
My Marinoni Sportivo: 47ST 53TT
My Riv Bleriot (650b): 49ST 52TT
BTW, TT measurements are "virtual."
