Bought a racing bike but got ****ing screwed
Im 18, 5'9, 160lbs, and an ambitious athlete. I'm a varsity track runner who decided road biking is a good way to cross train. So i researched, and researched, and found a bike which i could ride very fast and very aggressively.
TODAY!! I bought a 2007 54 cm six13. $1600. Ultegra/ 105. 500km. Almost brand spanking new.
THE BIG ****ING problem is i have SIZE 13 FEET. My enormous feet size has not affected me in any way athletically until now. Sure i got a little toe grab boarding, but nothing has hindered me to this extent. I CANT PEDAL AND TURN AT THE SAME TIME!! HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO CYCLE?? PEOPLE WITH BIG FEET CANNOT CYCLE COMPETITIVELY??
You guys dont understand how excited i was. I was extremely pumped up even after I fell twice on my ass trying to use the clipless pedals.
NOW IM AT SQUARE ****ING ONE AGAIN. I FEEL LIKE ****TT!!
Sure i can get white pansy looking CAAD9 with tiagra ****, and 27 damn speeds for 1100 in a 56 that may work, but this six13 is the **** and i'd hate to see it go right after i bought it. I hate this bull****. HATE IT.

You need some sedatives.
Toe overlap is common, especialy on race bikes. It's not a big deal. You only turn the wheel that far at walking speed, i.e. hardly ever.
Just don't pedal all the way around when you are turning the wheel far.
And most people fall down at least once when they're starting with clipless pedals.

I have that problem with my bike. Toes hit the wheel under the right conditions. I just avoid those conditions.

Ride more and you'll adapt. I too have large feet. My father used to race pro and he wears a 15.

My old man has size 13's and hasn't had a problem yet. I am a size 12/13 and haven't had a problem either.

Foot size is largely irrelevant, since the pedals should be under the ball of your feet.
If you have your foot too far forward on the pedal, that is an issue with your riding style.
As others have mentioned, it is common for a bike to have toe overlap. Once you get up to cruising speed you steer more by leaning than turning the wheel.

I have toe overlap on my fixed gear commuter bike. You'll get used to it and then you'll never even notice it. You got a great bike, you're young and athletic, prolly gettin' laid every once in a while, relax and enjoy the ride. This is but a small bump on life's bicycle path.

Maybe you should complain less and ride more. Then you'll realize that toe overlap isnt a big deal.

Buy some clipless pedals and why are you pedaling and turning? Your outside leg should be locked straight, you're hands in the drops, and you leaning way over. No turning and pedaling. Only leaning.
