I remember a Huffy commercial from the 80’s where they claimed to be the fastest bikes in the world.

But they never seem to advertise the "freshest toilet paper" or the "cleanest burning breath", or the "least filling gasoline"...

At one time, my avatar bike was billed as the world's fastest. Who knows? For now, M5 holds the hour record for unfaired. The consensus I've heard is that Cruzbike can be faster climbing - until you go anaerobic, then it's no better.

Fastest or not, it's pretty ballsy for them to offer the money back guarantee. Either the bike IS faster, they pay up, or they lose all credibility once word gets out.

Hmmm...
There are some things the recumbents are very good with, other things where they lack.
My trike experiments have been less than impressive.
I have a SpeedMachine that I picked up at the local co-op. Once I figure out how to rebuild the fork, I'll try to get it assembled, and then we'll see how it goes. Perhaps it will do well for flat courses, but may well suffer on the hills.

They have to offer a guarantee since most of their business is mail-order and the biggest concern is if you'll be able to ride the durn thing at all because of the moving bottom bracket design. The whole drive train is on a swivel. I'm aware of ONE owner in my area, and he's had it over a year and is still afraid of riding it. For some reason, most people with this issue simply re-sell them; and obviously the ones who like them keep them.
BTW, this is purely of recumbent interest, should not be in the General Cycling forum.

There’s a recumbent forum on here.....
The CdA and wattages they post on their website are pretty suspect. It’s a flat out lie that a good pro TT setup is about .270. Also they claim there were tunnel issues with the bike length in Charlotte.
That is amateur hour stuff. The Endura Obree vid pegged the modern UCI setup at .185 and his banned position at .172.
A competent TT rider can get .230 just fine. Point two zero is still a good benchmark.

I don't think the tri-haulers have any hand steering, it is all by foot.
I could imagine the uniqueness of the steering on a 2-wheel recumbent.

How stupid can they get?? FWD ?? WTF
Lucky if you don't kill yourself before you learn how to steer. Not for clumsy people for sure.
And you can't breathe lying on your belly for long either.

Regarding the "fastest bike" claim. About 2 years ago I took an out-of-state trip to visit my son . I took my Baron lowracer and did a couple of club rides while I was there. On one of the rides, a cyclist on a Cruzbike showed up. I was hoping to see how it did on the hills, since that's Cruzbike's main claim; but as we got close to the hills, he took the bypass route and I never saw him again.
