Getting a song you hate out of your head while riding
The last few days I've had I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain in my head. I mean, come on man. Before that was Push It by Salt and Pepper. Before that was Muskrat Love by Captain and Tennille. Stop the madness. I like metal, classic rock and 80's new wave. I try to think of a song I like but that doesn't work. Any tips?

One of my last centuries I had "This is a story about a man name Jed, poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed"
in my brain the whole way. Actually started singing it. Annoying.

I rode an entire 300K randonnee with the song, "Do Your Ears Hang Low" playing in my brain. I think I would have ridden off a cliff if there had been a handy one around. But I was in Manitoba. No cliffs available there.
Here you go ... play the tune ... I dare you!

Two weeks ago I had "Una Paloma Blanca" by the George Baker Selection going through my head. No idea how that one popped in. And now it's back...

For about a year straight on every ride it was Incense and Peppermints by Strawberry Alarm Clock after I found out it was the #1 song the day I was born. Now that one was cool, but most of the songs in my head I hate. Ice Ice Baby, Hanging Tough by New Kids On The Block, Disco Inferno, MmmBop by Hanson, Touch Me by Samantha Fox, Living La Vida Loco........ some pretty freaking bad ones.

I often pass Walker Street in Houston and that starts up "Darcy Farrow" because of the line,
"Where the Walker runs down to the Carson Valley Plain,
There lived a girl.
Darcy Farrow was her name."
I know the entire lyrics, so after that I can sing it maybe 20-30 times over the rest of the ride.

Actually try James Brown. No matter what singing "I Feel Good..." is excellent descent music; "Sex Machine" for rollers, "Get on The Good Foot" climbing...He's got one for everything.

Morning commute yesterday at 5:30 AM, I had "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees in my head, not exactly a motivator. For the life of me I couldn't figure out where it came from.
I prefer the Bobby Vinton version.

It's the last stewpid tv jingle I heard on the way out the door. A couple of bars of "Sunshine of your love" and all gone.

I once had How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria stuck in my head on a ride. I was seriously considering pulling over, taking off my helmet, and smashing my head into a tree.

I think it's the on-the-one beat that does it.
