derailleur cage size?
I'm running a 53/39 set of chainrings and a Ultegra 11-23 casette on my TT build. I can get a heck of a deal on a new DA 7800 rear derailleur at my LBS, but it is a GS cage and I know that my set up is probably best with an SS cage. Can I go with the GS or will this just not work?

It'll work. Will it shift as crisply as a shorter cage model? Some say yes, some say no, most say if it doesn't it's not enough to matter, probably not perceptible.

It will shift the same. The only disadvantage is the GS might be a gram or two heavier. If you are not a weight wiener it shouldn't be a problem, Roger

I swapped to a GS from an SS a few weeks ago. Acutually found that the GS is shifting cleaner.... But I also added a few links that were badly needed.
