Here are a couple pictures of my new handle bars. MUCH more comfortable than the flat bars.

Today it was 32 degrees celcius here (about 90 fahrenheit) and I rode to Geraardsbergen and finally climbed "de muur"
Man that thing is harder than I expected and I needed my smalest gear (30/23) to be able to get up it!
The steep coblestone bit has extremely crappy and pointy cobblestones while inclining at 20% ... insanity ... but once you get up it, there is a nice view and the welcome shade of a small church on top
Totally exhausted I had to lay down for a bit and afterwards took this foto ... the quality is crappy since it was taken with my cellphone.
The red arrow is where you can just about NOT see my house because of the pixelation

It's a very nice picture despite the low resolution. I thought you spoke of climbing the muur before. Haven't you ridden it before or was that a different "muur"? Does muur mean hill?
I've enjoyed catching a few views of the Tour de France as it passed through your country. I don't have cable, so I don't see as much as I would like.

"Muur" means "Wall" ... it kinda feels like riding up a wall you see
I haven't ridden it before, no ... I went to Geraardsbergen before a few times but was too exhausted when I arrived to even try.
I just can't drive at a slower pace apparently ... I'm allways in Timetrailmode ... this time I averaged 22 mph when going ... It was too hot and arriving at the center of town I rested for about ten minutes and refreshed myself at the town's fountain that has fresh water
So I have to admit I did "De Muur" after resting, but even then I still found it to be encredibly hard!
Those professionals that do "De Ronde van Vlaanderen" ... damn ... my respect for them just grew tenfold.

"Kapelmuur" ... Exactly
That is the 20% inclining coblestone bit, but it isn't just "de kapelmuur" that is hard though.
First, one has to get from the canal at the bottom of town up to the marketplace, then travers that going up a steep bit to "de vesten" and keep going up ... then turn right and make one's way to the actual kapelmuur ...
So by the time you've reached the hardest bit you're already pretty much sick and tired of it
The fun part is that there are a lot of tourists and locals sitting around at various café's in town or just walking by the road and apparently there's allways one cheering for you as you make your way to the top.

Relative newbie here.
Here is a photo of my one month old Trek 7300 hybrid.
I've added Trek rack and bag, front and rear lights and Bontrager Node 1 computer. Will be adding bar ends this weekend.

Went to the more hilly south to my father's cabin in the woods for the weekend for a family barbecue, so I took the opportunity to do some mountainbiking for a change.
It had stormed in the south a few days ago and the trails were full of fallen branches and trees, so I had to actually carry my bike through the forest and over some small rivers from time to time.
Saw some wild boars and a bunch of deer, who were surprised to see a human in those forsaken woods

S'Cruzer
new hybrid build-in-progress. using 700x40 slicks, 50-34T compact double crankset w/ a 13-32 rear, it started life as a 90s diamondback taiwan-built steel hybrid.
will be getting 45c black fenders for winter. I'm a 50-something 225 lb who wants to get back into riding trim, so this will be my bike-trail special for cruising around town.

so... I started over... larger frame, same old parts.
picture taken before swapping crankset over. still planning on the same red paintjob but haven't gotten there yet as I *just* put that together this afternoon.
edit: oh yeah. Michelin City 700x40C tires (ISO 42-622) barely clear the chainstay bridge on a late 90s steel Crossroads, YMMV, Caveat Emptor, etc etc!

What is so strange about the saddle's angle? It is definately meant to be that way as I like it very much how it is.

Introducing the U.A.B.
This is my very reliable and very stealthy U.A.B. (Urban Assault Bike). A 1998 Cannondale H300. All original except the seat, tires and barends. 12 years old and she still cruises like a Cadillac and is as quiet as a Nissan Leaf. Many roadies on MS150 type rides are impressed that I can pace with most of them. I can't lead, but I can keep up. I love this bike!!
