Bespoke bike with practical parts?
I went to the pickup of a bespoke bike for a light, 5ft nothing 75yo rider.
Super practical parts and design. Frame had rear rack mount points, DT bosses and rim break mounts. All cables exposed. Mechanical 11sp ultegra and tekro breaks. Oh, 26in wheels and race light steel tubing.
Wow it was tiny. 6-8 week lead time for full custom.
We did a 7 mile test and readjust ride. Afterwhich, the one thing I noticed is that a dropper post could cime in handy as one looses flexibility. I let the person know after the ride but kept my mouth shut about no disc or DI2. :-).

Why a dropper post? To make it easier to swing their leg over when mounting/dismounting?

There is always some awkwardness with a new bike. Age and flexibility exacerbates the issue. I see now why Mixte style frames or a dropper can help with getting on and off in city chaos.
My C&V city bike is 63 cm with a rear rack and straight top tube. At some point my leg ain't getting over the saddle.

73 y.o. here. While I've stayed in good physical shape, I do notice a slight decrease in flexibility in getting on and off the bike. You may have already mentioned this, but what might help the rider is rather than getting on and off a completely upright bike, tilt it over some. After a while it becomes second nature.

Welcome to BF.
You forgot to mention the color! (and the builder). Bespoke color is one of the best bespokes.
edit: Heck, you folks know me, and given newbie limitations - this thread needs pics - specifically bespoke pics. Campa with compact cranks and mid-cage derailleur = always roadie practical.
Cream panels = yum
Mostly I went cheapo on my 'custom' paint
ghosted in red

That touring softride is a time capsule of goodness.
Next time I see the person I'll take of pick of it and the tiny terry ATB scaled on 24in bmx wheels. Sorry,
but the paint job is stealthy basic.
I tell the 6'3 plus crowd and 5ft nothing on a good hair day. "At the price of new carbon you could have a frame shop (more than one person torching)make one for a similar price."
Edit: Holy modern lugged steel.

@seanmccoye - not so modern anymore but lugged EL-OS (mostly) is my bespoke forever bike. 6"1, riding low.
When the leg won't swing high, find a large mixte. C&V of course.
Saddle height at 78cm for me, my daughter claimed it temporarily as a kid hauler. AustroDaimler and others built mixte frames in 25” size.

Sounds like a sensible guy. Remember the commercials extolling "Mister Practical"?
My latest bike is a build-up of a C&V frame with practical-for-me parts. I chose the mixte style for the reasons mentioned, plus having artificial hips.

When dismounting my wife has learned to lean the bike way over toward the foot on the ground. Her other leg only needs to clear 24 inches to get past the bike. Not terribly difficult and not physically demanding to do this. A step through frame is another option but more needed when the bike has full panniers or other load.
