In my defense, I was going up a climb at 8 mph on a banked curve. Not the best place to take my hands off the bar. I have successfully zipped, unzipped, eaten, etc. many other times. This was just not my day.

a) ride rollers easily with hands
b) ride on the road with no hands
c) hold a line without wavering all over the place
If any of those are no, then don't try it.
But if you can do those things, it's not too hard

I rode no hands on my rollers second time I rode the things. I'm not bragging, just making a point that its not a godly task, its really not that hard actually.

It's more about the confidence to sit up than it is the skill to stay on them no handed. Once you're there, I think it's actually easier.

Took me about 4 hours total time before I could go no handed, now it's pretty natural when I sit up, I just have to keep my cadence high.

We used to get together at the local shop for Wenesday night roller rides before most of us bought lights and cold weatehr gear. we were set uo so that we were facing each other across the shop area and most of the times there were between 6 and 10 of us. After warming up some one would break out o can of handball balls and we would ride no handed bouncing them back and forth, drop the ball and it was time to sprint. The more times in the session a bll got dropped the harder the sprints got. At tiemes it could almost end up being long interval sessions.

The trick to riding no handed is to get off the bars without moving your body at all and without pushing the bars in either direction, it works best to lift you hands off the bars with your core rather than push off with hands.
I'm actually more comfortable riding no handed on rollers than on the road.

I actually find it easier to ride the rollers without hands than with. It takes a while to get used to it though but since you can't really steer with the bars anyway there isn't much point in holding them and your hands just transmit bumps and jiggles to them that you have to try to correct for. It is nice to be able to move around a bit, keeps things interesting. I can pedal out of the saddle on rollers too but that one still gets me in trouble sometimes.
I'd really like to see someone ride a unicycle on the two rear rollers, now that would be cool...

I wonder if that's even possible. I've done a search on it and can't seem to find if anyone's ever done it. If that is indeed possible, something cooler would be to ride a wheelie on rollers. I'd love to see a video of that.
