Did I get a deal?

Hi Folks-
I was bidding on this last week: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EOIBSA:US:1123

Now, I got an email yesterday with 6 hours left saying the high bids had been retracted (was up to 2200 I believe), and that I was now the high bidder. "That's some good shilling," I thought to myself. Since I had been outbid last Wednesday or so, I had found a new road bike locally and purchased that.

My question is: did I get a deal? Should I sell the zipps, build up a cheap wheelset and ride it, or throw it right back on ebay?

Thanks!

Looks like a pretty good deal. Depending on what you're planning on doing with it. If racing cross, I'd keep the Zipps, but get a cheaper wheelset to practice with. If just road riding, maybe sell the wheels to help offset the cost of the bike. But, if you like the road bike you already have and aren't planning on racing cross, I'd try selling it on craigslist locally.

Update: Bike showed up at my desk today. I'm going to put it together tomorrow and see how it rides. I have decided to sell the Zipps and build up a cheap cross wheelset to learn on. If I don't like it, I'll at least have a great commuter!

You should keep the wheels. That whole package was a pretty good deal.

I might end up doing that. I have a set of cheap ones on the way to learn and train on, I won't be disappointed if they don't sell.

I could never understand that much drop especially on a cross bike. It's not like aerodynamics is going to help much in the mud.

Yeah I was thinking the frame is too small. It could just be the compact geo though.

Wow, that drop looks really extreme. Is that a 54cm? Looks like you could go at least 58cm.
