Advice please re carbon MTB fork with 1" steerer
Hi All,
I have an old MTB that I am going to convert to a street/path/canal trail gravel grinder. It requires a 1" steerer. Do you have any recommendations?

1" steerer? That's gonna limit your choices. Not many around with that old steerer standard.
Try https://www.carboncycles.cc/?s=0&t=2 They have various A2C lengths but 42.5cm will probably suit your "old" bike if it's a 1" steer tube frame vintage.

I had a similar dilemma with by Bontrager. Picked up an Exotic brand rigid carbon fork (visually exactly like the White Bros. one but with different stickers) for about $200 shipped off of Ebay. Been an excellent fork, and light as crap. Mine came in around 1.89 lbs. after the steerer was cut. Disk compatible too...

I've had a carbon exotic fork on one of my bikes for several years now and it's held up with no issues to report. If the worse you'll subject it to is light gravel paths you should be fine. Now if you're riding balls out through multiple rock gardens...

I have ridden single track with that Bontrager setup as pictured, and it has been great. I have raced it, no issue. And I am a Clydesdale. The fork is durable, the fork is light, and the fork works. I am very happy with it, and at around $200, it's a steal....
