Vitus 979 Aluminum Frame, Campy Headset, 60 cm. Excellent Condition

Classic, Vintage Vitus 979 Aluminum Frame in EXCELLENT Condition.
Includes Campagnolo C-Record Headset

$175.00

Maybe local bike shop could facilitate packing & shipping ?

NOTE: I think the pink color is a bit accentuated in the pictures, and may be a bit more muted in real life. Having trouble getting colors to translate to the interwebs.

Just a few hundred miles estimate, Based on condition of frame & removed components.

Pink Anodized tubes. Color has faded a bit, compared to front derailleur area, and plastic top-tube cable guide areas.

60 cm Seat tube center-to-center

57.5 Top Tube, center-to-center

English thread BB .

25 mm Seat Tube inside diameter.

Campy C-Record Seatpost available for $35 extra

126 mm rear dropout spacing.

No damage. Very minor scratches as normal for a lightly used vintage frame.

Local Pickup Only. Delivery or meet 1/2 way, can be arranged if within reasonable distance to Fairfield County, CT

I’ve never really been tempted by a Vitus until now.

Holy crap! I want to build a pink bike, this is my size and I’m in Fairfield CT on Wednesday! Unfortunately I’m a heavier rider and just don’t do the bonded tube thing. Good luck with the sale.

Its all about how you pack the frame. Insulation noodles and zip ties are your friend.

What happens if the UPS guy steps on it ??
Do I need to buy insurance ahead of time ?

When shipping a frame via Bikeflights you can buy additional insurance coverage for a few bucks more.

@Homebrew01 - Do a search on this site for bike packing. Miamijim created a thread on how to do it as did wrk101, IIRC.

Try this

I can relate to the concerns about shipping damage. It really depends on your location and which crews work on the deliveries.
My personal experience had been bad with UPS with almost all the wheels and framesets sent to me through them having their boxes stepped on and wheels taken out of true as a result. Never had similar problems with USPS and FedEx.
I'm sure it is different with other areas, you just need to find out which delivery service to avoid based on previous expeprience.....
I now aways ask anyone sending stuff to me to not use UPS and I never had the same problems since.

Yep. So sexy, and yet so flexy.

Just a gorgeous frame, though
