1050-era 105 is good stuff, and a group in good shape is appreciated monetarily, especially the levers, IMO. It may lack the status of anything Campagnolo from the period, but objectively, it works better. Brake lever effort is much nicer, with newer adjustable angle pads, it stops very well (not just speed modulates), and indexed shifting + slant parallelogram RD = fast and trouble-free shifting. It also looks decent. Welcome to the light side of the Force.

Looks great and fast. Italian bb threading?
Question is, will Sloar love it for at least 2 weeks?

Death fork? Naaaah!!
I've always thought 105 was the best bang for the buck.

I actually bought this with the intention of using it as a bad weather bike. But after new decals and a thorough cleaning, it's nicer than I expected. I still want to find a Cinelli stem for the bars I want to use and I have a more knee friendly freewheel and new saddle ordered.

I'd rather have Shimano New 105 than anything Campagnolo had available during this era.

Thanks, I have no intentions of changing the group. I like the performance of the brakes and shifting. Have I converted? Nah! I am changing the bars and stem though, once I find the correct Cinelli stem.

It goes well with my blue Tommasini, now I need something in white.
