The only way they can make the bike sales part work is that they have an online store. I don't think selling premium used bikes in-person-only is a viable business model. The target market is too small and spread out geographically.

A nice place I wouldn't mind having a coffee or a nice lunch, but I wouldn't buy a bike from there. I know they focus on premium brands and whatnot, but I found a lot of their products to be overpriced, especially for the L'Eroica appeal. But then again, a lot of their bikes are handed down by former professional

If you happen to be in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood in Cleveland, there is Sixth City Cycles. They share a space with Coffee Coffee Coffee. He sells and repairs bikes out of the coffee shop. It is very clean and a great look. They have several bikes on the wall. They refurb vintage mostly steel bikes for the casual and commuter crowd. Everything I saw was in the $300+/- range. Berto is the guy there and he does good work. He's an hour away, but I took one of my bikes for service there. Very satisfied. I like supporting businesses like that. Coffee isn't too bad either. Roasted locally.

There are also Eroica Cafes and Bianchi Cafes scattered about. I went by the one in Stockholm a couple of years ago but it was closed for summer vacation.

Such a business is slated to open in Eugene, OR. It’s in the works right now.
It’ll be a downtown movie theater that serves coffee & other adult beverages, with food truck dining services. It’ll feature a “bike haven,” showcasing a very large collection of vintage bikes, and may offer some other interesting C&V cycling related amenities. There’s quite a bit more to the overall plan, but that’s about all I’ve really got on it so far.

Seems like a repair co-op might be an interesting thing to add to the mix.
The shop in Berlin seems worth a trip all on it's own. That seller has some very optimistically priced bikes on Eboy.

I'm guessing the business model is use the bikes to sell more coffees. Seems viable to me if a coffee only joint can survive in the same area.

Pretty sure the coffee house keeps the bills paid, but what was my LBS in Florence, KY (before we moved) was one of those. Well, he could get you a new Jamis, but 80% of what he had for sle was vintage steel. If you're ever near Cincinnati, look them up VB&B. The proprietors love what they do, but I would lose too much money at it, and it wouldn't be fun.

I've bought some Eddy Merckx frames from SVB. The frames were NOS and were immaculate. I probably paid a little over market price, but the exchange rate was favorable, and I didn't want to wait a lifetime to find similar condition frames. I look at least once a week at their site, looking for rare pieces. The shipping and communication was top notch. I would buy from them again.

They've been around for awhile now and they have the market cornered for High Quality Steel bikes that are ready to ship to your door. Excellent very knowledgable website information on the Bikes they sell. and Ive seen some very rare birds listed on their For Sale section.

Fah, two passing fads. Before you know it, we'll be back to drinking mead* and driving ox-carts.
I've had visitors here marvel over how many locally-run coffee joints there are here. And no shortage of LBSes. And the two cultures indeed have a huge intersection. Still no single combo shop. There's an LBS and a local cafe next door to one another on Isthmus / Cap City path, and a lot of crossover between them. Well, technically, their addresses are on Atwood, but they both each have two "storefronts", one on the path side and one on the street side. Only a matter of time before someone opens up such an establishment, but I bet it'll be more along the lines @mpetry912 mentioned, a small co-op or DIY workspace kind of place. Come to think of it, the local co-op is slated to move into and run the "bike station" at a major new development downtown; I wonder if anything eat/drink related is in their plans....
*(BTW, we actually do have a local meadery, but I digress.....)
