As it sits now...I would like to keep it but the top tube is too short (seat tube length is fine though)! I guess its a good sizing for people with shorter arms/shorter torsos. The medium just "felt" big to me...but that's what I should have went with...

(feel free to post baby arm pics)

I'll only move my saddle position based on position over the cranks. I never measured the stock stem but I'm guessing it is 115-120mm. I don't really want to go longer than that...

Well then yeah, sounds like your medium is too small. The Schwinn sizing is weird. Standover height-wise, my large is just a tad biggert han I usually like my frames. Every other measurement is spot on for me though. Sigh...I love my Maddy.

Not the best pics but its what I got. Most are just pics of the upgrades. Scod, what happened to the saddle? Did you get my PM?

It's the small that I have. The height of the medium threw me off when I tried it out...but that's what I should have got.

Oops! I read your post entirely wrong. My large was the same way...it felt too big when I first threw my leg over it but it was very deceiving.

yeah im in the same boat. high top tube is for that classic fit/feel!

so i have some tk3 track bars coming in. theyre 31.8 so i guess im looking for a new stem too. with my pursuit bars i have a 110 stem so i think ill need a little shorter stem for the drops. not too sure...

Hey all, an 07 owner here. Been riding the bike for almost 3 years now but never really got into upgrading anything til now. First thing I wanted to do was get a new chainring, a 44t probably, and also possibly a new crank if need be. I don't really get all the different size chainrings and bracket distances and stuff. Could someone who has maybe done this point me towards what I would need?

edit - ok so I'm able to fit any chainring as long as it matches the BCD on the stock crank? Does anyone know that measurement? I was able to find the 08's at 130mm, is it the same for the 2007?

You guys love your Madisons so much that I went to the website to check it out. It turns out the XS bike has a 30.7" standover, which sounds a little too close for comfort for someone with a 31" standover...

I think you'd be alright. My size large pushes the bounds of my standover height too...but I tend to ride my bike more than stand over it.

Check out this Madison.
https://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2010...ordanEaton.htm

Whats up man, This is my 2008 Schwinn Madison that I just flipped perminently to a fixie. I flipped and chopped my bars and spent like 10 hours bending, drilling and sanding an old brake so I could mount it to the stem. I got the brake for a dollar, but you should have seen it before, it was pitted and covered in rust and had a huge gash in the back. I can't believe I got it to look that good, and to fit into the screw holes on my stem. My bike isn't finished I still have some stuff I want to do to it, but what bike is ever finished.

Peace, Jordan Eaton, St. Paul, MN & Vermilion, SD
